Raccoon City!

The movie version of Resident Evil did not seem as powerful as the game version. After all, the game version had already introduced things like mold, which could grant people superpowers.

But the movie version actually had some very powerful viruses too, such as the T-Virus.

In the earlier installments, before they started retconning and changing the settings, Aerith, who had been infected with the T-Virus and perfectly fused with it, displayed astonishing abilities. Especially Aerith, who had been revived after the Nuclear Bomb Explosion—She could even kill people through surveillance cameras with telekinesis and destroy satellites far out in space, among other incredible feats.

With that level of power, even Miranda from the game version would probably have been crushed, and Veronica would have been no different.

Then... telekinesis, such an insanely awesome ability, was sealed away. Later on, Aerith returned to her usual routine of relying on firearms to fight a whole horde of bio-monsters, especially Wesker.

Who knew whether the budget had all gone toward hiring actors, leaving not a cent for special effects.

There were still big spectacle scenes, but unfortunately, none of them were Aerith's personal superpower showcases.

But for Chang Wei, this was a pleasant surprise. Telekinesis! It was telekinesis!!!

Judging from Aerith's performance, her psychic abilities did not possess the traits of "Mind Control" or telepathy. In addition, they could physically manifest and affect matter, so it was definitely telekinesis.

"Raccoon City..."

Chang Wei felt somewhat regretful. He had really wanted to see the fresh-faced Jill and Ada Wong, as well as the young Leon.

Raccoon City was one of the most successful fictional cities in gaming history. Silent Hill and Liberty City from Grand Theft Auto were also on that list.

Gotham City? That was indeed a highly successful fictional city, but the problem was that the comics came first, and only then the games. It was not one of the most successful cities in gaming history.

Jill suddenly understood. She really had appeared on the news a few times. Even if she was not interested in it, her looks were very marketable, so the chief often had her appear on camera, even though Jill was very unwilling.

As they drew closer, Jill froze, and Payton was no exception. Chang Wei felt like some terrifying beast to them, radiating a head-on sense of danger. Those wolfish eyes were filled with untamed arrogance and cold indifference.

Damn it, they had actually been frightened!

Even though this priest was very handsome.

"Priest, are you the only one in the church?"

Everyone introduced themselves.

Jill Valentine, elite officer of S.T.A.R.S.; Terry, female reporter/pretty face/deadweight/one who held everyone back; and Sergeant Payton, who came with a passive invisibility ability. Unfortunately, zombies had no vision and relied entirely on hearing. Otherwise, he alone could have slaughtered his way through the zombie horde.

"No."

Chang Wei looked at the headless young man's corpse on the floor.

"What is this?"

Jill's hand moved to the pistol at her waist.

"He broke down and killed himself as soon as he came in."

Chang Wei spoke calmly.

Jill examined the corpse and felt that it did not seem to be the case. Just as she was about to say something, she suddenly heard a noise.

Something big was moving across the ceiling.

Jill immediately crouched, gripping her gun with both hands and aiming it at the ceiling. Sergeant Payton's reaction speed and movements were nearly the same as hers.

"What is that thing? A bird?"

However, Chang Wei "saw" what it was: the most classic Resident Evil supporting monster—the Licker!

Its body was made of bright red muscles, like a frog skinned in an anatomy class. Its forelimbs were exceptionally developed and equipped with sharp claws.

Its brain was also exposed to the air, but that was a trap. The Licker's true weakness was the heart in its chest. Even if one knew its weakness, though, it was difficult to inflict real damage while it crawled forward low to the ground at such high speed.

Fortunately, even without hitting a vital point, sufficient damage could still consume its T-Virus, causing it to lose its vitality and become unable to repair or heal itself.

After all, even Chang Wei, who possessed the Emperor Blacklight Virus, did not dare claim that he was Immortal and Undying.

The Licker had probably been drawn over by the bloody scent of the young man Chang Wei had killed. Fresh DNA was an enormous temptation to a Licker.

By continuously acquiring fresh DNA, Lickers could keep evolving. The one at the end of the first movie was Type II, and later movies even featured an enormously Gigantified Licker. Who knew how many times it had evolved?

Originally, quite a few Lickers had been lurking in the church in Resident Evil 2. There was a very high chance they had been attracted by the old priest's scheme of tricking innocent people into feeding his zombie sister.

In other words, even if Aerith and the others had not come here, the old priest would not have survived much longer.

"Crash!"

Something smashed through the glass and came inside. Jill and Payton stared at the Top of the Head in even greater terror.

"What was that? It was so fast!"

"I don't know. Don't talk. These things attack based on sound."

Jill and Payton shielded Chang Wei and the female reporter Terry from either side. Both of them were highly responsible people.
