Background / History

Little Orange was obtained from Beast Mountain on Carefree Sect’s Beast Taming Peak and gifted to Xu Chunniang by Senior Uncle Lin Xi. She was initially proud and reluctant even to form an equal contract, but became Xu Chunniang’s closest combat companion alongside Little White. 252 255

Her unusual heritage was apparent early on. Even experts could not identify her species, while her pale-blue light screen could devour sorceries and seize spiritual artifacts. She later sensed an inexplicable connection to a shattered peacock skeleton on White Bone Mountain. 255 275 462

When the ancient Qiongqi encountered her in the gray mist corridor, it injected gray-black smoke into her body and left Xu Chunniang with the instruction to care for her. Little Orange fell into a deep coma; after later forming her Golden Core, Qiongqi took control of her body and severed her contract with Xu Chunniang. 483 491 492

Xu Chunniang eventually found Little Orange’s sealed Nascent Soul and freed it. Little Orange spared Qiongqi’s incomplete Nascent Soul despite its possession of her body, citing their shared origin. 505
