"Looks like the Spirit Ascension Platform during the Rampage Period isn't that dangerous after all! Teacher Wu still underestimated us!" Because of their string of easy victories, Zhang Yangzi's fondness for showing off in front of others surfaced again.

"Enough. Keep it down. Teacher Wu is still watching from outside! Do you want to make your own exam harder?" Xie Xie could not help rolling his eyes when he heard Zhang Yangzi.

"No! No! If not for the captain, how could we have had it this easy? This assessment mission is already hard enough for us," Zhang Yangzi hurriedly replied when he heard Wu Changkong's name.

"All right, Yangzi. After we deal with that Hundred-Year Soul Beast up ahead, we'll rest and recover our Soul Power."

Everyone quietly approached the Hundred-Year Man-Faced Demon Spider. When the distance was right, Gu Yue did not hesitate in the slightest. The Hundred-Year Man-Faced Demon Spider neither dodged nor evaded. It directly used several of its spider spears to scatter the fireballs, then a huge yellow-green web flew straight toward everyone. Several fireballs formed from Glazed True Fire surged from Lin Xingyu to meet it, and amid a series of explosions, only after several Glazed Fireballs completely dissipated was that yellow-green web finally burned away.

After observing Lin Xingyu and the others, the Man-Faced Demon Spider seemed to feel they were a bit troublesome. It actually began openly setting traps around them right in front of their faces.

"Captain, aren't we making a move yet?" Xie Xie asked nervously.

"It's fine. Don't rush! This time, I'll do it! None of you need to act. I'll let you see the power of my Soul Skill!" Lin Xingyu casually comforted Xie Xie.

Hearing Lin Xingyu, Gu Yue and the others looked over curiously. They knew Lin Xingyu's third Soul Skill condensed weapons, but they did not know what else this Soul Skill could do, or how it could directly and easily kill a Hundred-Year Man-Faced Demon Spider.

Aya, on Lin Xingyu's shoulder, wore a solemn expression. The small Crimson Gold sword floating in her hand grew brighter and brighter.

Gradually, the Man-Faced Demon Spider seemed to sense something. It became somewhat hesitant, as if it wanted to retreat.

Gu Yue, Tang Wulin, and Zhang Yangzi also could not help looking over.

Lin Xingyu smiled and replied, "Nothing much. One of my Combined Soul Skills. You all have to keep it secret for me."

"All right. This Man-Faced Demon Spider has conveniently set up an outer defense for us. Next, rest properly and recover your Soul Power."

Seeing that Lin Xingyu was unwilling to explain in detail, everyone came back to themselves and began meditating.

What Lin Xingyu had just used was a Combined Soul Skill he himself called "Sword Control."

After an item steeped in Soul Power was transformed into a weapon by the Mysterious Soldier Armor, it was filled with Gold Attribute properties. Lin Xingyu shaped Glazed True Fire into the form of a sword, then transformed it into a weapon. However, he only shaped the blade and not a hilt, and continuously filled the inside of the blade with Glazed True Fire.

As a result, this small sword existed in a state between stable and unstable, liable to explode at any moment. Lin Xingyu then used the force field formed by electromagnetic force as propulsion, guiding it with Spiritual Power to fire this small flying sword out.

The small flying sword had Spellbreak, Toughness, and sharpness effects attached to it. After striking the target, it directly produced a second explosion. The weapon shaped by the Mysterious Soldier Armor burst apart into pieces of metal shrapnel, and the Glazed True Fire detonated a second time, instantly inflicting terrifying damage.

The damage caused by this Combined Soul Skill was naturally terrifying. It just required preparation and guidance in advance, which took a certain amount of time. After Lin Xingyu's Soul Spirit Aya rose to a Thousand-Year Soul Spirit, Aya could release Lin Xingyu's first three Soul Skills. This was also where the current Soul Spirit system surpassed obtaining Soul Rings by hunting Soul Beasts ten thousand years ago!

Quite a few Soul Beasts, panicking and choosing blindly, crashed into the traps laid by the Man-Faced Demon Spider, ultimately dying here and turning into pure spiritual energy.

Lin Xingyu asked, "How do you all feel? How many more years of spiritual energy can you absorb?"

Wang Jinxi smiled bitterly. "If I absorb all the spiritual energy that hasn't been absorbed yet, my Soul Spirit should be able to reach five hundred years. My Soul Spirit's limit should be six hundred years. Any further, and my Spiritual Power won't be enough." As he spoke, Wang Jinxi looked at the spiritual energy around the surface of his body that had not been absorbed. There had been some changes again.
