Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well.
Huo Yuhao encountered Dugu Bo head-on.
Dugu Bo wore a dark green robe, his handsome face carrying a lazy expression as he studied Huo Yuhao with amused interest.
This young man had crossed mountains and ridges to come knocking on his door. How interesting.
With his meager cultivation, crossing Sunset Forest and scaling mountains was simply unrealistic.
The answer was obvious. Someone was backing him, perhaps hiding nearby.
"Greetings, Your Excellency Dugu. My teacher asked me to deliver a message to you." Huo Yuhao looked Dugu Bo straight in the eye, his voice firm and forceful.
He had come alone and been caught red-handed while gathering herbs, yet he showed no panic whatsoever.
"Your teacher?" Dugu Bo's eyes flickered.
"Unseen Through Ages, Holding the Sun and Moon, Undead Scourge," Huo Yuhao said calmly.
Dugu Bo fell silent.
Huo Yuhao stared at him with wide, beady eyes.
Dugu Bo flashed forward in an instant, kicking up a whirlwind.
Huo Yuhao's throat was suddenly seized in a hand, and Dugu Bo lifted him into the air.
"I've lost count of how many lives I've taken. A snot-nosed brat like you dares play this trick on me?!" Dugu Bo leaned close, his eyes as sinister as a venomous snake's as they fixed on Huo Yuhao.
Huo Yuhao gritted his teeth and endured it, his gaze growing increasingly fierce.
This Dugu Bo truly had a strange temperament, volatile and unpredictable.
Huo Yuhao stirred that trace of Divine Soul deep within his Sea of Consciousness. Mysterious patterns emerged in his Spiritual Eye, and terrifying Spiritual Power suddenly burst into Dugu Bo's Sea of Consciousness.
Dugu Bo felt as though he had been struck by lightning. His consciousness instantly plunged into the center of a dark Undead Graveyard, his field of vision rapidly expanding.
Beneath the distant black canopy of heaven, an immense, mysterious figure in black robes rose up. With one hand, it grasped the sun and moon as they spun; stars orbited its body. As its eyes slowly opened, two Blood Moons appeared, radiating a terrifying aura that transcended the world. It looked down with lofty solitude upon Dugu Bo in the center of the Undead Graveyard.
Dugu Bo could not withstand that dreadful pressure. His heart pounded violently, nearly bursting, yet his body could not move in the slightest.
A Deity!
So "Holding the Sun and Moon" had not been an empty phrase. But it was already too late.
Dugu Bo realized that he could not bear the Deity's gaze. He was nearly at the limit of exploding apart.
The Deity raised a hand slightly. A black iron chain pierced down through the starry night sky, punching directly through Dugu Bo's chest. Like a venomous snake, it coiled around his heart. The iron chain then stretched taut like a thread, extending to the fingertips of the mysterious figure above.
The mysterious figure beneath the black canopy slowly closed its eyes. The vision of the starry sky gradually faded, and the Undead Graveyard swiftly collapsed.
Dugu Bo's consciousness fell into an endless abyss of darkness.
Splash!
A sharp pain shot through Dugu Bo's wrist. He recoiled almost instinctively, blood spraying through the air. The Tiger Claw extending from Huo Yuhao's right fingertips was stained with scarlet droplets.
Dugu Bo withdrew his hand into his sleeve. Huo Yuhao broke free of his restraint and fell to the ground, gasping for air.
"Want to kill me? My blade has never failed to draw blood!" Huo Yuhao's gaze was exceptionally sharp.
Dugu Bo stood sideways, blood dripping from his fingertips as he stared palely at the bone claw extending from Huo Yuhao's right hand.
A soul bone?
"Speak. What is it?" Dugu Bo's cold voice rang out.
"To take your life." Huo Yuhao raised a hand and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.
Surprisingly, Dugu Bo did not attack again. He merely frowned slightly.
The two faced each other for a moment. Then Dugu Bo turned and headed toward the cave in the valley.
Huo Yuhao froze for a moment.
He was just leaving?
He watched Dugu Bo's retreating back warily, worried that this was merely a ploy to lower his guard.
Afterward, Dugu Bo returned to his cave, and the entire valley once more sank into silence.
Huo Yuhao quietly observed with the Insight Eye activated.
Inside the cave.
Dugu Bo sat cross-legged on a stone bed, his palms resting on his knees. His face was twisted, and his nails nearly dug into his flesh. The aura of Soul Power within him was in chaos, scattering in every direction.
Only then did Huo Yuhao realize that it was not Dugu Bo's sudden kindness. His snake venom had flared up.
To avoid exposing himself, he had put on quite a convincing act while walking away. It seemed Old Yi's intimidation had worked.
Huo Yuhao sat down where he was and began regulating his breathing.
After waiting for roughly an hour, he raised his eyes and glanced at Dugu Bo in the cave.
During a venom flare-up, do not disturb.
Huo Yuhao immediately shifted his gaze from the cave to the various strange plants growing here. So many dazzling immortal herbs.
He approached a large pink flower and crouched down beside it. Its stamen was exposed, pale violet in color, as though it were studded with gleaming purple diamonds.
Huo Yuhao raised his hand and, in a remarkably humanlike manner, gently stroked the tip of the stamen. A faint smile appeared on his face.
Immortal herbs that haven't developed intelligence are much more obedient, aren't they? Right, You You?
Immortal Herb: Aromatic Silk Beauty
Effect: The nemesis of all poisons. It could neutralize every toxin. Though it could not detoxify on its own, it could suppress poison.
Huo Yuhao rose and noticed another immortal herb nearby.
It was a snow-white immortal herb, crystal-clear from top to bottom. Every blade seemed ready to drip with water. The plant was slender and curved, resembling a swan's neck.
Immortal Herb: Snow-Colored Swan Kiss
Effect: With only a trace of contact, any virus in the affected area would multiply hundreds or thousands of times.
Huo Yuhao considered whether he should give Dugu Bo some.
Just a little would surely send him on his way.
Huo Yuhao took out a jade shard and scraped it across the Snow-Colored Swan Kiss before putting it away.
A natural maker of Hell King's Decree.
If Dugu Bo dared attack him again, he would send him straight to the King of Hell.
Huo Yuhao walked before another immortal herb and bent one knee as he examined it.
It was an exceptionally special immortal herb. Its roots, stems, and leaves formed curtains of creeping vines, finely combed and dense. At its peak grew a golden tulip.
Immortal Herb: Aromatic Silk Beauty
Effect: Those who consumed it could absorb the essence of heaven and earth, the radiance of the sun and moon.
According to records, the Aromatic Silk Beauty was the known immortal herb capable of allowing the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda to break through its martial soul limitations and become the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda.
Legend had it that Ning Rongrong, the young mistress of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, had received this immortal herb from Tang San. Her martial soul advanced, and she later gained the favor of the Nine-Colored Goddess. Husband and wife ascended to godhood.
"By absorbing the essence of heaven, earth, sun, and moon, the Aromatic Silk Beauty should be quite useful for nurturing Old Yi's Divine Soul," Huo Yuhao murmured.
Then he spotted a palm-sized chunk of Black Crystal placed not far away. Sealed within it was a red peony seed.
Huo Yuhao stopped in place and remained silent for a long while. In the end, he still bent down and picked it up.
Immortal Herb: Lovesick Heartbreak Red
Effect: It possessed the power to revive the dead and regrow flesh upon bones.
Note: Only one whose entire heart belonged to their beloved, and who received the flower seed's favor, could make it bloom. Once bloomed, it would never wither.
Huo Yuhao raised his hand and hurled the Black Crystal away with all his strength. It vanished into the depths of the clouds and mist.
In his view, this Lovesick Heartbreak Red was nothing but a Cursed Flower. It involved immense karmic ties and would inevitably face reckoning.
If two people loved one another and stayed together, why would they need lovesickness that broke their hearts?
What was the point of earning this flower's approval? To gain a tragic love?
The Lovesick Heartbreak Red had originally been a seed, the kind that had never bloomed.
