Background / History

Tang San possesses knowledge of the Tang Sect’s hidden weapons and Secret Teachings, later revealed to have lived two lives and originated the Tang Sect’s hidden weapons. He resents the Tang Sect for disowning him despite his talent. 75 213

During the Great Soul Arena tournament, he wins all twelve first-round matches but becomes a target of manipulated matches and increasingly dangerous opponents. His willingness to use lethal force and hidden weapons draws concern from Xiao Wu, Dai Mubai, Oscar, and Yu Xiaogang. 50 51

His conflict with Huo Yuhao escalates after their arena battle, where Huo overwhelms Tang San’s Blue Silver Grass, Purple Demon Eyes, and Dragon Beard Needles. Tang San is severely injured and captured before the arena’s Order Maintainers intervene. 53

While fleeing with Tang Hao, Tang San accidentally absorbs a ten-year Wind Baboon ring into Blue Silver Grass’s third slot. The unwanted ring weakens his first martial soul and leaves him with a conspicuous white ring. 118 120

A Yin later strips his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. His Blue Silver Grass martial soul shatters, its soul rings dissipate, and he loses the advantage of Twin Martial Souls. 223

After surviving the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang San rebuilds through the Haotian Hammer, obtains the Ocean Heart, and pursues the Sea God inheritance. He later reaches Sea God Island, where his assessment is rated Black Level Five Trials rather than the Sea God Nine Trials he expected. 224 326 327

Appearance

Tang San is a black-robed youth who later manifests a dark Haotian Hammer covered in Abyssal Power, corrosive magic patterns, and black flames. 406

Personality

Tang San is strategic, resourceful, and intensely determined to overcome disadvantages through planning, cultivation, hidden weapons, and unconventional tactics. He considers confronting stronger enemies possible if he can forge sufficiently advanced weapons. 50 75

He is also proud and impulsive. Yu Xiaogang repeatedly criticizes him for taking excessive risks, relying on hidden weapons instead of his martial soul, and treating victory as justification for reckless choices. 51 174

Repeated defeat, imprisonment, and torture at Huo Yuhao’s hands leave Tang San fearful, desperate, and increasingly driven by revenge. Even after escaping Slaughter City, he continues to vow retaliation. 251 270 295

Abilities & Skills

Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul

Tang San originally fights as a Control System Soul Master using Blue Silver Grass for restraint, seed placement, and ranged attacks. Its strength declines sharply after the forced Wind Baboon ring and is ultimately annihilated with the loss of his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline. 50 120 223

  • Parasitism / Parasitic Seed — activates planted seeds using an opponent’s soul power, creating binding vines with a paralytic toxin. 50
  • Flying Leaf Slash — launches wind-attributed leaves from Blue Silver Grass; its number is tied to Tang San’s Spiritual Power. 120
  • Flying Leaf Slash can be combined with Parasitic Seed to improve its combat utility. 120
  • The martial soul is fragile against strong power-attack opponents and loses its remaining bloodline advantage after A Yin’s extraction. 173 223

Haotian Hammer

Tang San’s remaining martial soul after Blue Silver Grass is destroyed. He rebuilds his cultivation around it and later manifests it with Abyssal Power. 224 406

  • Possesses a ten-thousand-year fourth ring acquired from a Great Strength Gorilla. 224

  • His actual cultivation later exceeds his ring configuration, having reached the eightieth rank without obtaining new rings. 406

Tang Sect Secret Teachings

Tang San relies on inherited techniques as compensatory combat tools, particularly after Blue Silver Grass is weakened. 120

  • Purple Demon Eyes — grants enhanced perception and can deliver a traceless Mental Impact. 50
  • Mystic Jade Hand — hardens his hand for direct exchanges. 120 173
  • Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — remotely alters the trajectory of hidden weapons to strike weak points. 120 173

Divine Soul Power

As a reborn God King, Tang San can gradually accumulate remnant Divine Soul power so long as it is not completely destroyed. 302

  • Breaks free from the Blue Silver Emperor’s prison with Divine Soul power. 222
  • His accumulated Divine Soul power is repeatedly suppressed and consumed by Huo Yuhao. 295 302
  • Even at full output, his remaining Divine Soul power is assessed as only early Nine-Ring Titled Douluo level. 302
  • Uses Spiritual Power to overwhelm the Bee Monarch despite suffering from the Bee Needle. 406

Sea God Authority

Tang San seeks the Sea God inheritance through the Ocean Heart, also called the Sea God’s Heart. 216 224

  • The Ocean Heart allows him to bypass Sea God Island’s Storm Barrier. 326
  • Uses the Sea God’s Heart to temporarily invoke Sea God authority and perform the Sea God Third Style against the Deep Sea Demon Whale King. 321
