The bullet pierced his neck, spraying blood.
The man was still trying to retreat, but his body had already begun to collapse.
He fell to the ground with a bang.
Yet his hand still reached into his clothes, trying to pull something out.
Bartholomew rushed over and kicked him in the head, making his movements pause slightly.
Wu Heng stepped forward as well and pulled the trigger at the fallen man again.
Bang! Bang!
Amid the gunfire, bullets tore through his chest.
His body stopped moving completely.

The System Prompt appeared, confirming that the enemy was dead.
He had Bartholomew keep watch over the surroundings.
After changing the magazines for both himself and Bartholomew,
Wu Heng picked up all the empty magazines he had just thrown onto the ground.
He glanced at the corpse, blood already seeping out onto the floor, but gave up on the idea of transporting it to the Zombie World.
He had no idea how Ortluk and Cavina were doing, and if there were signs of fighting afterward but no body could be found, suspicion could easily fall on him.
After quickly running through the possibilities in his mind, he led Bartholomew toward the front at a run.
At the same time, he wondered whether any guards outside had noticed what was happening here.
If they did not send some kind of signal outside, perhaps no one would ever discover the situation here.
He came to an abrupt stop and quickly found a window facing a flowerbed.
He cast Grease Spell over the entire flowerbed, pulled out a lighter, lit a strip of cloth, and threw it inside.
Whoosh!
Flames instantly surged upward, lighting up the entire night sky.
Now he refused to believe no one would notice.
Once they saw the fire, they would come to put it out and inspect the Adventurer's Guild as well.
If even this could not draw the guards over, then all of Blackstone Town had probably fallen.
He might as well return directly to the Zombie World.
After finishing everything, Wu Heng continued running toward the hall.
In the hall.
Five people holding longswords or daggers surrounded Cavina. They wore different clothes, but their coordination was remarkably seamless.
They attacked Cavina together.
Meanwhile, in the shadows some distance away, a black-robed figure with a crow perched on his shoulder silently watched.
From time to time, he released blue energy spears that blocked Cavina's movements.
As if he were toying with prey.
Cavina was not in good shape either. Her entire body was drenched in blood, covered in sword wounds of varying sizes.
The blonde hair beneath her helmet had clotted with blood and stuck to her pale face.
Her longsword continued to swing as she fought the people around her.
"Little girl, you seem quite talented. Why not join us?" The black-robed man's voice rang out, strangely enchanting and disorienting.
Cavina panted lightly and staggered on her feet. She merely snorted coldly without answering.
The black-robed man nodded and lightly patted the crow on his shoulder.
Caw!
A sharp cry came from the crow's beak.
Cavina glanced at it instinctively, only to find that the crow was staring at her too.
Those eyes were like an abyss, devouring her mind.
In that brief moment of distraction, the people beside her had already swung their swords at her head.
Just as the Iron Sword was about to fall.
Swish!
A powerful beam of light suddenly shot out from afar, sweeping across their eyes.
Before they could react, deafening gunfire erupted.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Bullets tore through the darkness and shot forward.
Though not a single one hit, they still intimidated the group for a moment.
They retreated one after another, opening up distance.
Bartholomew moved swiftly through the darkness, rushed into the crowd, hoisted the dazed Cavina over his shoulder, and retreated into the darkness, vanishing from sight.
Wu Heng had just breathed a sigh of relief.
Whoosh!
The sound of flapping wings rang out.
In the edge of the flashlight's beam, a Black Feather Crow had already flown above his head.
Wu Heng looked up in surprise and instinctively met the crow's eyes.
In the next instant, the crow's eyes expanded like a spreading abyss. Wu Heng immediately felt dizzy and disoriented, as if his soul were being devoured.
But then the sensation vanished in an instant, and his vision became clear again.
"What the hell!"
He slammed the flashlight into the crow's head with a bang, sending it flying into the wall.
"Kill him!"
The black-robed man in the distance roared furiously.
The five people in the darkness charged over.
As they drew near, Wu Heng turned his gun and pulled the trigger.
After setting Cavina down, Bartholomew pulled the trigger from the side as well. Bullets crisscrossed through the hall, and the five charging people instantly fell to the ground.
The black-robed man in the distance panicked and turned to leave, trying to flee into the darkness.
Wu Heng shone his flashlight on him and pulled the trigger.
Bartholomew quickly followed, chasing after the target with him.
The bullets cut through the darkness and tore through the black-robed man's body.

The black-robed man died.
After confirming the target had been killed, Wu Heng quickly went to Cavina's side.
She was covered in blood, with wounds of all sizes covering her body.
Holding out against so many people for this long made her quite formidable.
He took out two bottles of potion from his Backpack, pried open Cavina's mouth, and poured the Healing Potion and Antidote Potion straight in.
He did not know which one would work, but keeping her alive came first.
After thinking for a moment, he opened a bottle of Mental Potion and poured that in too.
Cough! Cough!
Cavina coughed violently, and the potions he had poured in spilled back out of her mouth.
Then she opened her eyes. "What are you doing?"
"Giving you medicine. Are you okay?"
"Nothing too serious."
Wu Heng nodded. "Rest for a moment. Reinforcements should be here soon. I'll go check on the captain."
"No, we'll go together. He's facing a stronger enemy." Cavina swayed as she stood up.
A stronger enemy?
Wu Heng now understood why Cavina had not run and had instead fought so many people head-on.
If she fled, Ortluk would face even greater pressure.
Wu Heng nodded and did not intend to leave her behind.
He had no idea whether there were more enemies around. Staying together was safer.
"Alright, let's go!"
The two of them and the skeleton moved swiftly through the corridor.
Thud! Thud!
Heavy pounding sounds came from the darkness ahead.
After turning the corner, they saw a tall figure fighting Captain Ortluk.
Hearing the footsteps behind them,
the two fighters quickly separated and looked back at the same time.
Wu Heng and Cavina also looked at the enemy.
He was a burly man nearly two meters tall, his bare arms packed with bulging muscles. He fought with only his fists and used no weapons whatsoever.
Captain Ortluk, on the other hand, looked rather bedraggled.
His breathing was labored, and the silver armor over his chest had caved in, as if he had taken a heavy blow.
Seeing his two teammates arrive, Ortluk's face showed a trace of joy. "Did you call for reinforcements?"
"They'll be here soon," Wu Heng answered.
Who knew whether reinforcements had come or not? He absolutely could not say he did not know right now.
Ortluk nodded and continued, "Divine Punishment Cult Elder Bawudong. He specializes in martial arts. He's very strong and very agile."
Damn!
The Divine Punishment Cult was here, while Blackstone Town's main force was outside the city.
