Background / History

Wu Heng began surviving in a zombie-infested residential complex by clearing rooms with Skeleton Warriors and looting supplies. By the end of one early sweep, he had amassed seventeen Skeleton Warriors armed with cleavers and fruit knives. 3

After joining the Adventurer's Guild, he became part of a newly formed team and accepted missions outside the city despite preferring the relative predictability of killing zombies for experience. He later became Captain of Team 12. 15 112

His strength expanded through repeated expeditions into the Zombie World, where he converted corpses, equipped Skeletons, gathered industrial resources, and developed a force large enough to clear zombie hordes and defend settlements. He also built influence in Luntam City through Wen Mansha and the Spike Gang, before becoming the Island Master of Treasure Island. 149 200 242 501

Wu Heng used modern goods, weapons production, electricity, newspapers, and trade to reshape the cities and territories under his influence. His public reputation grew alongside his military power, though this also attracted the attention of the Church, the Mystic Association, the Yeke Kingdom, assassins, and rival powers. 568 644 800 947

After reaching the Hero stage, Wu Heng established and promoted the Spirit Awakening Sect to cultivate Faith. He eventually ignited Divine Fire, sacrificed his mortal body and memories as fuel, and ascended as a god. 861 863 1106

Appearance

Wu Heng is a young human man with a distinctive appearance in the regions where he operates.

  • Black hair and black eyes. 560
  • Described as being just over twenty years old while nearing Level 18. 732
  • Can conceal or alter his appearance through disguises and Wondrous Items when necessary. 50 573

Personality

Wu Heng is cautious, pragmatic, and intensely focused on survival. Early in his career, he preferred fighting zombies—an enemy whose behavior he understood—over taking uncertain risks beyond the city. 15

He approaches power as a logistical problem: corpses become Skeletons, supplies become equipment, factories become weapon production, and public stories become influence. He frequently prepares for threats before acting, gathers intelligence through Wraiths and informants, and avoids exposing all of his abilities without need. 138 221 469 713

Although often ruthless toward enemies and willing to imprison, coerce, or experiment on threats, Wu Heng shows consistent concern for his close companions, subordinates, and settlements. He protects Wen Mansha, supports Xiaoxiao's growth, and repeatedly invests in the defenses of allied survivors. 204 563 958
