Background
Azure Mountain began as Panshi Mountain, the tallest of four principal peaks in Emerald Screen Mountain. Li Chang'an leased it for twenty years at a cost of twelve thousand Spirit Stones, then erased its old name from the entrance boulder and renamed it Azure Mountain to reflect his pursuit of a steady, enduring immortal path 189.
Upon moving in, Li Chang'an had Da Huang excavate a peak cave mansion and established formations across the mountain. He regarded the site as the first place where he could truly settle down without the constraints he had faced in Clear River Market and Yellow Crane Immortal City 189.
After forming his core, Li Chang'an obtained a much larger Tier 3 Spirit Vein region and established a new independent Dao Field there. He retained the name Azure Mountain, making the original Panshi Mountain complex the origin of the Azure Mountain Lineage rather than its final territorial foundation 288.
The mountain later developed into an independent Dao Field. Its spiritual land supported cultivators, spirit fields, an Immortal City, and a growing Azure Mountain Lineage, while its increasingly formidable formations made it a difficult target even for Golden Core and Nascent Soul enemies 191 265 505.
Li Chang'an retained Azure Mountain as his seat after forming a True Nascent Soul, declining offers of senior sect positions in favor of remaining its master. Although the mountain became an affiliated faction of the Myriad Formation Sect after the Heaven and Earth Great Change, he continued to preserve its independence in his dealings with other forces 464 499.
Appearance
The original leased Azure Mountain was a mountainous spiritual land centered on a three-thousand-zhang main peak, originally called Panshi Mountain. Its terrain included three neighboring peaks, land at the mountain's foot, and a nearby Mortal Realm 189.
The later Azure Mountain Dao Field is substantially larger than Yellow Crane Immortal City. Its central Tier 3 Spirit Vein region can support numerous Golden Core cultivators or Tier 3 Demon Kings, while the surrounding territory contains Tier 2 and Tier 1 spiritual land for cultivation, agriculture, settlement, and industry 288.
- Main peak — The highest peak of the original Panshi Mountain complex; it was the location of Li Chang'an's cave mansion and the original core Spirit Vein 189.
- Bamboo Peak — Home of Liu Yuzhu 189.
- Snow Plum Peak — Home of Yu Hongmei 189.
- Red Pine Peak — One of the three lesser main peaks surrounding the original Azure Mountain 189.
- Tier 3 core region — The heart of the later Azure Mountain Dao Field when Li Chang'an acquired it, containing the densest Spiritual Energy, cultivation cave mansions, and Tier 3 High-grade Earth Fire 288.
- Spiritual land below the mountain — Suitable for spirit fields, spirit lakes, marketplaces, beast pens, and the settlement of subordinate cultivators; the region beneath the later Dao Field gradually developed the rudiments of an Immortal City 189 191 288.
- Spirit medicine gardens — Azure Mountain cultivates extensive fields of rare Tier 1 through Tier 3 spirit medicines, including Crimson Blood Bamboo used in body-refining medicinal liquids 303.
- Fire Cloud Secret Realm — An underground Great Jin-era mining site beneath Azure Mountain, originally sealed by a Tier 4 formation and later developed as an exclusive hidden realm 331 337 388.
- Reshaped Azure Mountain Region — After Li Chang'an gathered Earth Vein power beneath Azure Mountain, the surrounding mountain ridges faced its Evergreen Spirit Vein. New minor Spiritual Veins and Spirit Springs appeared across the region, spiritual plants flourished, and some ordinary beasts transformed into Demonic Beasts 653.
Defenses & Infrastructure
Formation Network
- Li Chang'an first concealed four Second-order Great Formations with the illusory power of the Mirror Flower Water Moon Formation 189.
- The Azure Wood Genesis Formation was later installed as a Tier 3 Grand Array. It conceals itself among the mountain's ordinary vegetation and can draw intruders into a lethal formation gate without their notice 189.
- After improving the redundant and flawed early arrays, Li Chang'an retained the Tier 3 Azure Wood Genesis Formation alongside a Quasi-Tier 3 Mirror Flower Water Moon Formation; together, they could resist a Golden Core cultivator 199.
- Li Chang'an subsequently used the Azure Wood Genesis Formation as a core to arrange four additional Tier 3 Grand Arrays of different attributes 245.
- The Five Elements Genesis Formation could not be sustained by Azure Mountain's original Tier 2 High-grade Spirit Vein alone; its operation consumed immense quantities of Spirit Stones 245.
- The defensive formation later reached Tier 3 Mid-grade, humiliating the body-refining Golden Core Wan Xing when he attempted to force his way onto the mountain 265.
- Li Chang'an upgraded the Five Elements Genesis Formation to Tier 3 High-grade after acquiring the new Tier 3 Spirit Vein; the linked five-array formation could threaten even late Golden Core cultivators 288.
- By the time Black Sand True Lord besieged the mountain with black clouds, Azure Mountain's Tier 4 Mid-grade arrays could disperse his pressure and sever his perception of the interior 505 506.
- Li Chang'an later modified the defensive network into twelve interlocking Peak Fourth Tier formations powered by top-grade Spirit Stones. Qiao Sheng's repeated Nascent Soul Peak Stage attacks failed to damage or breach it 616.
- Following the Evergreen Spirit Vein's advancement, Li Chang'an planned to replace the existing arrays with Quasi-fifth-Rank formations, potentially incorporating Poison Dao. By the Nine-Headed Bird's subsequent visit, a Quasi-fifth-Rank Formation protected the mountain 653 664.
Cave Mansion and Spirit Facilities
- Peak Cave Mansion — Excavated by Da Huang using Earth Element Power shortly after Li Chang'an took possession of the original mountain 189.
- Spirit Lake — Dug and filled by the Profound Water Turtle with the Minor Cloud Rain Technique 189.
- Tier 3 Earth Fire chamber — Located deep within the later Dao Field's Spirit Vein; Li Chang'an established his alchemy chamber and artifact-refining room here 288.
- Scripture Pavilion — Accumulated cultivation methods, spells, ancient texts, and inheritances taken from defeated enemies and secret realms; it gradually approached the foundation of the Qingyun Sect's collection 235.
- Spirit medicine gardens — Vast gardens cultivate rare spirit medicines and body-refining resources, providing a long-term foundation for the lineage's cultivation and alchemy 303.
- Fire Cloud Secret Realm — A sealed underground region marked as a Great Jin Immortal Dynasty Fire Cloud Crystal Stone mine. Li Chang'an initially could not breach its Tier 4 barrier, but it later became an exclusive hidden realm under his control 331 337 388.
- Secret-realm Teleportation Arrays — Li Chang'an repaired a second Teleportation Array in the Fire Cloud Secret Realm, opening a route to the Moon Gazing Secret Realm. He tested the route with a Tier 4 Puppet before risking entry himself 549.
- Underground insect-cultivation palace — A concealed facility deep beneath Azure Mountain, guarded by Li Chang'an's avatars; he prepared for them to destroy its traces if discovery threatened 401.
- Upgraded Evergreen Spirit Vein — Its near-peak Tier 4 High-grade Spiritual Energy can support Li Chang'an's cultivation through Late Nascent Soul and allows Black Sand True Lord to cultivate without relying on a Spirit Gathering Formation and Spirit Stones 653.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Establishment of the Dao Field
Li Chang'an leased Panshi Mountain, renamed it Azure Mountain, and established it as his personal Dao Field. The site included a Second-tier Spirit Vein, spiritual land at the mountain's foot, and jurisdiction over a nearby Mortal Realm with a population of one million 189.
He relocated trusted cultivators to the land below the mountain but forbade them from exploiting his name, bullying innocent cultivators, or expecting his protection after provoking powerful enemies 191.
Reestablishment at the Tier 3 Spirit Vein
After reaching Golden Core, Li Chang'an acquired a far larger Tier 3 Spirit Vein region and continued using the name Azure Mountain for his new Dao Field. The central mountain region possessed Tier 3 Spiritual Energy and Tier 3 High-grade Earth Fire, while the surrounding territory offered broad Tier 2 and Tier 1 spiritual land for the development of spirit fields, lakes, medicine gardens, beast pens, cave mansions, and settlements 288.
The four families under Li Chang'an's protection relocated to the new Dao Field, and the territory below the mountain gradually took on the form of an Immortal City 288.
Beast Tide Defense
During the Beast Tide, nine Tier 2 Great Demons—led by three late-stage Tier 2 demons—attacked Azure Mountain. Li Chang'an and the other peak masters defended their respective peaks with formations and talismans; Li Chang'an killed two Tier 2 demonic beasts through a sword formation, forcing the attackers to redirect their assault toward Snow Plum Peak and Bamboo Peak 202.
Fortress Against Intruders
Azure Mountain's reputation as a dangerous stronghold grew after repeated invasions failed. Wan Xing attempted to break in by force but was seriously injured and driven away by the mountain's formation, shocking the Southern Region cultivators who had gathered to watch 265.
Qin Hong later entered the formation to investigate the mountain, only to be transported into Li Chang'an's courtyard and captured within a few breaths 320.
The mountain's formations also severely wounded the Tier 3 Spirit Rock Rat Demon King when it attacked in pursuit of Zhou Yunqiao, demonstrating that Azure Mountain could withstand threats beyond the Foundation Establishment realm 242.
Fire Cloud Secret Realm
An earthquake changed Azure Mountain's terrain and intensified its Earth Fire. Li Chang'an discovered the Fire Cloud Secret Realm beneath the mountain, an underground Great Jin-era mining area blocked by a Tier 4 formation 331.
The sealed realm initially remained a major unresolved resource within the Dao Field: Li Chang'an could sense its value but lacked the Fourth-order formation legacy needed to enter it safely 331 337.
It later became an exclusive hidden realm connected to Azure Mountain's foundations, with Changqing Divine Mountain within it developing a Tier 4 Spirit Vein 388.
Li Chang'an subsequently repaired another Teleportation Array within the Fire Cloud Secret Realm, using it to reach the Moon Gazing Secret Realm. A Great Jin-era map later led the Nine-Headed Bird to conclude that the Fire Cloud Secret Realm's entrance lay beneath Azure Mountain. He coveted its Fire Cloud Crystals and the other resource-rich secret realms connected to it 549 633.
Rise of the Azure Mountain Lineage
Azure Mountain's spiritual environment and resources continued to improve. The presence of a Dragon Ox, a Heaven and Earth Spirit Beast, brought increased fortune to the mountain and its surrounding lands, contributing to the appearance of talented descendants and cultivation opportunities 327.
By the time of the Heaven and Earth Great Change, the mountain's Spirit Vein had advanced to Tier 4 Low-grade. Despite outside doubts that its Golden Core cultivators could hold such a valuable vein, the lineage produced powerful successors, including Yan Hao and Luo Yunshu 463 467 506 507.
The Dao Field also became a place for protected breakthroughs. Xue Qiansi formed her Nascent Soul there, Ye Mengxian chose it for her own attempt, and Luo Yunshu later prepared to undergo Nascent Soul Formation with Li Chang'an's approval and Luo Yu's protection 601 611 653.
Nascent Soul-Era Stronghold
Black Sand True Lord besieged Azure Mountain after Li Chang'an refused to surrender Yellow Sand's Nascent Soul. Azure Mountain's Tier 4 Mid-grade arrays dispersed Black Sand's black clouds, and Li Chang'an later cut off the outsider's ability to perceive the mountain's interior 505 506.
After Black Sand eventually submitted through a Spirit Contract, he became Azure Mountain's lifelong guardian rather than an external threat 536.
Azure Mountain continued to gain Nascent Soul-level residents and protection. Yan Hao remained as a Guest Elder, Black Sand guarded the mountain, and Xue Qiansi chose to stay after forming her Nascent Soul there; by this period, the Dao Field contained four Nascent Soul cultivators 507 601 611.
Its defenses continued to improve: twelve interlocking Peak Fourth Tier formations withstood Qiao Sheng's repeated full-strength attacks. Black Sand later advanced to Late Nascent Soul under Li Chang'an's protection and chose to remain at the mountain despite the Yellow Sand Sect's efforts to recall him 616 636.
Spirit Vein Advancement and Renewed Threats
Li Chang'an's clone used Tier 4 High-grade Feng Shui arts to gather Earth Vein power beneath Azure Mountain, redirect the surrounding ridges, and strengthen the Evergreen Spirit Vein with numerous treasures. The vein rose from Tier 4 Mid-grade to near-peak Tier 4 High-grade, enriching the wider region. Li Chang'an reassured alarmed residents that the changes were the work of a Feng Shui expert 653.
During Luo Yunshu's subsequent Nascent Soul attempt, Luo Yu captured and killed several Late Nascent Soul cultivators from the Nether Prison Sect who had been spying on Azure Mountain and intended to seize Li Chang'an. Li Chang'an also learned that Tian Ming had been injured while secretly preventing stronger Nether Prison Sect cultivators from attacking him 653.
The Nine-Headed Bird later tried to purchase Azure Mountain to gain access to the treasures beneath it. Li Chang'an refused even an offer that included a Quasi-fifth-Rank Spiritual Vein and three Tier 5 Treasures. The Nine-Headed Bird then hired Black Market assassins to kill him, but Wu Chen, operating under the name Black Face, warned Li Chang'an of the plot 664.
