She is principled in transactions and political dealings. She honored her agreement to exchange the Ten-Thousand-Zhang Mountain Range for Li Chang'an's Giant Smoke Mist Stone despite Wu Shuo's objections, and she defended Li Chang'an from retaliation by cultivators of her own sect. 273 287

Her greatest attachment is to the Purple Cloud Sect. Her Inner Demon Tribulation showed her a future in which the sect, her masters, and its disciples were destroyed by the Demonic Path; this fear revealed how deeply she values the sect she grew up in. 424 She can be suspicious of unusual circumstances—including briefly wondering whether Li Chang'an was a Demonic Sect agent—but chooses to trust evidence and past conduct over baseless accusations. 359 474

Zi Xi publicly represented the Purple Cloud Sect during the surge of opportunities caused by the Ancient Sect Ruins. She first met Li Chang'an there, recognized his potential, and offered to accept him as a Guest Elder under her authority; he refused in favor of remaining independent. 259 271

Her relationship with Li Chang'an developed through reciprocal exchanges. She traded the Ten-Thousand-Zhang Mountain Range for his Giant Smoke Mist Stone, later signed a purchase contract for his Tier 3 pills and artifacts, and promised him protection after receiving half of the Ice Spirit Jade. 287 312

During the ruins' conflicts, she fought beside Li Chang'an against Gu Yunqi and Cui Baihong, witnessed his Quasi Tier 4 Formation Dao, and became increasingly uncertain about the true origin of his abilities. 323

Underground World and Demonic Formations

Zi Xi led Purple Cloud Sect cultivators through the underground world, identifying danger and keeping her followers together through the Myriad Hearts Return Formation, All Beings Dream Array, and Blood River Entrapment Formation. 359

She subsequently completed Nascent Soul Formation. Her Inner Demon Tribulation forced her to confront her fear of the Purple Cloud Sect's destruction and a vision of Li Chang'an dying to protect her—a detail that helped her recognize the illusion because it contradicted his survival-first nature. 424

Netherworld Domain and Red Puppet Palace

Zi Xi left for the Netherworld Domain to investigate the unexplained deaths of her disciples during the Righteous-Demonic War. 474 She was eventually trapped and injured in Red Puppet Palace, where Red Puppet True Lord used a Tier 4 formation and puppet needles to seal her mana. 482

Li Chang'an traced her location, destroyed the palace formation, defeated Red Puppet True Lord, and removed the tens of thousands of puppet needles from Zi Xi's body. The rescue deepened their mutual trust, and Zi Xi subsequently gave him the Bright Love Flower he had sought. 482 483

Myriad Formation Sect Opportunity

Following a major battle, Zi Xi and Purple Cloud True Lord earned an opportunity to cultivate at the Myriad Formation Sect. Zi Xi informed Li Chang'an that a Spirit Transformation Heavenly Lord appeared interested in accepting both master and disciple, and she sought Li Chang'an's advice on the prospective new master. 601

Li Chang'an recommended cultivators he considered trustworthy, including Luo Yu, Du Yi, and Snow Wind Heavenly Lord. He later learned that Zi Xi's prospective master was Heavenly Lord Wuxiang, whose involvement in a scheme against Fu Sheng made Li Chang'an uncertain whether becoming his disciple would benefit her.
