Sharpening the axe did not delay the chopping of wood. Human Civilization did not want to set out in an incomplete Dream Lyra that lacked a matching onboard computer.
After all, the road ahead was dangerous and unknown. Who knew whether they might run into Cosmic Civilizations belonging to the Restarters or the Void Returners? They might not necessarily come to blows, but one still had to be strong to command respect. Only with powerful force as a guarantee could one speak with confidence.
That truth was the same no matter when.
Just imagine, if the Great Evolution Civilization had not possessed powerful combat strength, how could they ever have been qualified to speak with the Void Returners? The Restarters would not have paid them any attention either.
In this battered, cruel universe, force was not only the guarantee of a civilization's survival, but also the foundation for realizing its ideals.
From humanity's plain moral perspective, the Silver Heart Civilization's actions counted as despicable, shameless, and unforgivable. Yet they were still alive and kicking, and had even given their flagship a righteous-sounding name. So who agreed, and who opposed?
Then did the civilizations that had turned the universe into this battered state count as evil? Of course not. If that were the case, all life would be evil, because it was precisely the development that came after life formed civilizations that accelerated the appearance of Vacuum Decay. Even disasters like the Fourth Phase Transition, which could destroy the entire universe, were all the work of life.
Yet life was also saving the universe—or rather, saving itself.
