Several more years passed. Humanity successively completed warp experiments, Force Field Shield deployment tests, Gravity Bomb and Antimatter Bomb experiments, as well as test firings of the Planet Destroyer Cannon, Neutron Kill, and Neutron Burst. Almost every technology that could currently be applied had been tried, yet the thing people feared still happened. Feedback from detectors scattered throughout space revealed nothing unusual, let alone any exit.

Every detector sent back the same information. Space was still that same stretch of space, with no sign whatsoever of the Great Universe.

"Could it be that even though we built Warp Engines and successfully tested speeds of 10.079 times the speed of light, we still haven't met the standard?"
