Traces of Civilization

With the support of mid-stage Level 4 Civilization navigation technology, humanity's journey across the spiral arm went fairly smoothly. They had devised a relay navigation method to cross the two most distant stars, but no accidents occurred along the way.

After emptying the antimatter from the transport ships, humanity's Great Fleet took only thirty years to cover the remaining distance and arrive at the star on the other side.

Yet within this star system, humanity was surprised to discover traces of civilization.

Originally, humanity had planned to destroy a Rocky Planet here to replenish some supplies, then use the rocks as Heavy Nuclear Fusion fuel to produce antimatter. Once their antimatter fuel had been replenished, they would head straight for the Perseus Arm.

But when the Probe Spaceship arrived in the Target Star System and transmitted information about its interior, every high-ranking human official shuddered.

This star system was centered around a Red Dwarf Star, the most common type of Main Sequence Star in the universe. Humanity, which had not encountered a single-star system in a long time, found it quite rare. From the perspective of Milky Way Galaxy evolution, scientists explained that the material density here might have been low in the distant past, leaving insufficient mass to form a multi-star system.

This Red Dwarf Star was one-third larger than the Proxima Centauri familiar to humanity, though it still fell within the category of Red Dwarf Stars. Bound by its Gravity, it had four planets: two Rocky Planets and two Gaseous Planets.
