Only after more than two thousand Consciousness-Linked Warships entered the channel did people have time to consider the causes behind both their previous situation and their current circumstances.

In hindsight, the experts analyzed why humanity had been able to trigger the channel themselves, much like Zhuge Liang after the fact. They believed the Rhomboid Lattice Maze was indeed both a test and a method of selection.

First of all, the Precursors had never considered the possibility that a Level 3 Civilization could cross the stars and find the Small Universe they had left behind. Therefore, any civilization entering the Rhomboid Lattice Maze had to be at least a Level 4 Civilization. As for the things placed within, only a civilization possessing the speed technology of a Peak Level 4 Civilization could use them at the very least. Otherwise, the Precursors would not have designed the channel to activate only at that speed.

As for why a single warship could not trigger it, the experts believed it was likely a test of whether a civilization had truly mastered the technology itself. If the engines had been purchased, it would have been impossible for them to have so many.

Or perhaps there really was some kind of surveillance equipment within the Rhomboid Lattice Maze, and the channel would only activate after it discovered that the Engine Technology had been created by the civilization itself.

Then, if a civilization that clearly failed to meet the standard, such as Human Civilization, the Orange Star Civilization, or the Dynamic Image Civilization, entered, it would have to strive to improve itself here. That would be a severe test of the civilization's potential.

Because the Rhomboid Lattice Maze had no usable energy at all, civilizations entering it had to achieve a technological breakthrough within a limited time.
