More than two thousand warships led by the Lyra set sail. They were a detachment of Humanity's First Fleet, but they were also the essence of the First Fleet.

Every warship in this fleet was crewed by humans and equipped with the Awakeners' Consciousness Linking Device. They were the elite among elites of the warships.

This fleet, operated entirely by humans themselves, now began the routine voyage described in the report. That was, upon entering the first spatial sector at the spiral entrance of the Snail Shell, increasing the fleet's speed relative to the Rhomboid Crystal matrix to half the speed of light.

There was no difficulty in the journey. This core fleet quickly reached the required speed and entered the first stage of the subsequent voyage.

The core fleet would cross the first spatial sector of the Snail Shell spiral at this speed, then activate its Warp Engines and enter the first stage of Warp, one times the speed of light.

The voyage that followed was also simple, following the data mentioned in that report. As the journey continued, their speed would gradually rise from one times the speed of light—1.1, 1.2... 2, 3... until it finally reached 38.941 times the speed of light.

Such acceleration was not difficult for humanity. The difficulty lay in discovering these patterns. Yet because of that, once the voyage began, everyone was caught between hope and fear.
