An unfamiliar energy weapon ignored every kind of Human shield and came with speed Humanity could hardly match. With such a configuration, it was hardly surprising that it could crush the entire Human fleet.

That was how Star Level Civilizations were. They either crushed other civilizations or were crushed by them. A balanced fight only happened when both sides were on the same civilizational level.
