Hawk Soloes Quantico Base

The next day.

Early morning.

Hawk, having gotten dressed, walked up to the motel front desk and took thirty dollars from his pocket, handing it over.

"Extend for another day."

"Room key."

"Here."

Hawk handed over the room key.

The motel staff member took the key, glanced at the room number, made a note of it, and then handed the key back to Hawk.

Hawk took the key back, said thank you, and turned to leave the motel.

Not long after.

He arrived at the mountain road next to the Quantico Base...

Hawk wasn't worried about his morning run attracting the attention of the base soldiers.

After all, besides him, other residents of Quantico town were also running along this mountain road.

Wearing a baseball cap, Hawk jogged along at a leisurely pace behind the running crowd, completely unnoticed.

Hawk thought to himself, then looked again at the topographic map on the paper, which he had marked with symbols only he could understand. He then tore the paper into pieces, so thoroughly that even the most professional expert couldn't reconstruct it, before throwing it into the room's trash can.

The sun began to set.

Hawk also returned to the motel front desk at this time, returned the room key, completed the checkout process, and walked out of the motel.

This was a motel.

The front desk had seen guests check out less than ten minutes after checking in with a female companion.

So the front desk wasn't surprised by Hawk's early checkout.

After leaving the motel, Hawk found a nearby pizza place, ordered a pizza, and sat by the window to eat.

With a great battle about to begin, he couldn't go hungry.

If he ran out of energy halfway through the fight, or got caught because he was too weak to run while escaping, it would be too tragic.

Night completely fell.

Full and satisfied, Hawk, under the cover of darkness, used his current speed, which could even break the sound barrier when running at full throttle, moving like a phantom through the dense forest. He soon arrived at the military base's high-voltage security fence.

Hawk didn't rush to enter. Instead, he looked up at the towering sentry towers within the military base.

On the sentry towers, searchlights, turned on at night, illuminated designated areas, slowly sweeping back and forth automatically.

The moment a searchlight swept over, Hawk pulled down his hood, hiding himself behind a tree.

The baseball cap had been used in the morning run and was not suitable for reuse, just in case.

But this black hooded jumpsuit could be.

He had found it in the trunk before driving the taxi into the river.

Hawk had changed into the clothes after leaving the pizza shop.

The searchlight moved away from the range of the large tree where Hawk was hiding.

Without hesitation, the moment Hawk emerged from behind the large tree, he slightly bent his right knee, and as the muddy ground beneath his feet caved in, he silently took flight like a roc, soaring over the security net that an ordinary person could never cross, and landed inside the base.

Once inside the base, the rest would be easy.

It was just a matter of finding the abandoned laboratory, digging it up, and then making a run for it.

Hawk had already planned it out.

So, after landing in the base, Hawk proceeded according to plan, moving swiftly through the shadows at the edge of the base towards the abandoned laboratory he had already scouted.

The abandoned laboratory, surrounded by sheet metal and with soldiers guarding its only entrance, instantly came into his sight.

Hawk stood quietly about a kilometer from his destination, using a shipping container casually placed on the base's lawn as cover, watching the two soldiers in his line of sight.

Hawk, with his eyes closed, slowly exhaled a breath of stale air, then slowly opened his eyes, looking at his destination in his sight.

Boom!

The moment the grass beneath Hawk's feet splashed, accompanied by a deafening bang like a sonic boom, Hawk shot out like a cannonball.

The two men responsible for the security of the abandoned laboratory today were chatting and laughing.

They both thought it was going to be another uneventful day.

Their peripheral vision seemed to catch something, and then they heard the sonic boom explode in their ears.
