When Hawk returned home, besides dragging a twenty-inch carry-on suitcase, he also had an express envelope in his left hand.
The courier had just given it to him.
He said it had been urgently sent from New York University that afternoon.

After casually pushing the suitcase aside, Hawk sat down on the sofa, looked at the address on the envelope, and tore it open.

Hawk sucked in a breath. Looking at the officially stamped full-scholarship admission letter, which only required him to report in next September, he could not help blinking.

He frowned.

It really was a gift expecting nothing in return.
As Hawk thought this, he examined the admission letter, which had probably only been printed that afternoon, while taking out his phone, finding the recent call log, and dialing the latest number.
The call was answered quickly, and the voice from the other end carried a hint of delight.
"Mr. Hawk!"
"I received the gift."
"That's wonderful... Wait, Mr. Hawk, New York University isn't the gift. It's merely a greeting gift."
"Hmm?"
"I just checked. It seems you haven't looked at the real gift yet, Mr. Hawk."
Hawk raised an eyebrow.
