Background / History

Ye Xuan was initially known to Ye Qin as his aunt and as the Queen. She cared for him closely, encouraged him to attend his Martial Soul Awakening, and guarded information about his mother, Ye Nanxi, whom she described as the best and most beautiful person in the world 2 26.

Behind her public identity, Ye Xuan maintained extensive hidden influence. She knew Yang Wudi's true identity, had previously received a divination from Star Elephant Soul Douluo Dai Zong, and possessed a connection to Eagle Eye, Emperor Xue Ye's trusted palace commander 64 96. When Ye Qin sought to remove Eagle Eye from the imperial palace, she understood that he intended to kill Xue Ye, ordered Eagle Eye to abandon the emperor, and concealed her own involvement to protect the Ye family 96.

Ye Xuan was later exposed as the Mistress of Nanmeng after facing Ye Qin in an arena battle while he used a different appearance. During the match, she wielded the Azure Dragon Lightning Whip and demonstrated the strength of a four-ring Soul Ancestor 112. She was poisoned during the battle; Ye Qin saved her using his blood and medicinal pills 112 113.

While unconscious, Ye Xuan revealed that she was not truly Ye Qin's aunt and that the person she loved was Ye Qin. After Dugu Bo and Lucifer exposed Ye Qin's identity to her, their relationship changed from concealed affection to an open romantic bond 113. She later accepted Ye Qin completely and agreed to help his other partners obtain God Positions 256.

Ye Xuan also guided Ye Qin's growth from the shadows. She kept a God Realm secret manual containing part of the Nature Seven Absolutes, which Ye Qin memorized and used to evolve his Dragon Scale Flower Martial Soul into the Jade Dragon Divine Flower 131. At the Sea of Flower Gods, she admitted that she had arranged events around Ye Qin's encounter with the Poison Dragon Flower King and Wang Qiuer so that he could acquire the Power of Destiny and reach Ye Nanxi's tomb 228.

Her divine status became apparent through her confrontation with Gu Yuena, whom she warned not to manipulate Ye Qin or let the God Realm discover him 131. She later refused Sea God's proposal for Ye Qin to inherit Sea God's divine position 156.

Appearance

Ye Xuan's appearance varies with her identity and power. In her usual divine appearance, she has shoulder-length blue hair and wears a white gauze robe; as Nan Meng, she manifests blood-red hair, red eyes, red clothing, and blood-red fingernails 131 218.

Ye Xuan is deeply protective of Ye Qin. She reprimands him when he acts recklessly, worries about his safety even while aiding dangerous plans, and uses her own connections to remove obstacles from his path 8 96. Her affection for Ye Nanxi is equally strong; she defended Ye Nanxi's secrets and helped guide Ye Qin to her tomb 26 228.

She is also secretive, calculating, and willing to manipulate circumstances for Ye Qin's long-term benefit. She concealed her identity, monitored Ye Qin within the Sea of Flower Gods, limited the Poison Dragon Flower King's strength, and pressured Wang Qiuer into sharing the Power of Destiny 96 228.

When dealing with threats, Ye Xuan can be ruthless. Di Tian fears her enough to address her as “Lord Nan Meng,” and she violently punished him for revealing Gu Yuena's identity to Ye Qin 218.
