"Sasuke?"
Naruto looked at Sasuke with some excitement.
Sasuke gave Naruto a reassuring look in return.
"Sasuke, do you have a different opinion?"
Kakashi was somewhat puzzled about what Sasuke was about to say.
Hadn't Sasuke just said that they needed to be wary of Hyuga Soji? No one could be certain that he wasn't like Madara Uchiha or Obito Uchiha.
Actually, calling Madara Uchiha and Obito Uchiha outright villains wasn't entirely accurate.
At the very least, their intentions had been good. They had both wanted to create a world without war or pain.
They had just chosen the wrong methods—methods that were far too extreme.
In short, they were lunatics!
Shikamaru, Kakashi, and Tsunade were now worried that Hyuga Soji might be that kind of person as well.
After all, the Uchiha Clan had produced so many lunatics, even Sasuke himself had once been one. Wasn't it perfectly reasonable for the Hyuga Clan to produce one too?
As Konoha's absolute upper echelon, they had no choice but to guard against that possibility.
Only Naruto, as the Seventh Hokage, had continued believing in Soji. Otherwise, the rest of Konoha's higher-ups might have questioned Soji long ago.
Of course, the Hyuga Clan was an exception.
With Soji planting the God Tree, the situation had finally been ignited.
"Yeah. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn't approve of Naruto's actions either. Trusting a visitor from another time and space so easily is irresponsible toward the entire village and the Ninja World!"
Sasuke spoke calmly.
All along, the one Sasuke had trusted was Naruto, not Soji!
"If that's the case, Sasuke, why..."
Hearing Sasuke say that, Shikamaru couldn't understand why he had just said "but."
That turn of phrase clearly meant Sasuke still stood on Naruto's side!
Was Sasuke blindly trusting Naruto?
That was the
