Akatsuki attacked Konoha while Obito abandoned the Infinite Tsukuyomi, and the village’s defenders joined forces to repel the assault. The Allied Forces assembled as Akatsuki continued preparing for war, Soji investigated Shihō’s origins, and Sasuke’s worsening eyesight threatened to limit him.

  • Black Zetsu restored Nagato’s legs, and Nagato accepted Hiruko into Akatsuki after he defeated Kakuzu and revealed four Kekkei Genkai.
  • Shisui secretly used Kotoamatsukami to make Hiruko protect Konoha, while Obito captured Fū and Zero after fighting Orochimaru’s Clone Number One.
  • Rin revealed that Madara had manipulated her death and persuaded Obito to abandon the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan.

Arc 57Hiruko and the Clone

Nagato restored his legs and welcomed Hiruko into the Akatsuki Organization, while Shisui secretly used Kotoamatsukami to make Hiruko protect Konoha. Obito failed to defeat Orochimaru’s powerful Clone Number One, then captured Fū and Zero, but an unknown voice interrupted him as he prepared to restrain Fū.

  • Black Zetsu restored Nagato’s legs with Hashirama Cells, and Nagato accepted Hiruko into the Akatsuki Organization after Hiruko defeated Kakuzu and revealed four Kekkei Genkai.
  • Shisui arranged for Hiruko to obtain a Three-Tomoe Sharingan from a cooperating Uchiha, then secretly used Transcription Seal to place Kotoamatsukami in the eyes and make Hiruko protect Konoha.
  • Obito infiltrated Orochimaru’s base to kill him and capture Fū, but Orochimaru released Clone Number One, who fought Obito with Ice Release, Wood Release, and Sage Mode.

Arc 58Obito’s Turning Point and Konoha Under Siege

Rin’s return and the truth about her death led Obito to abandon the Infinite Tsukuyomi, while Nagato launched Akatsuki’s attack on Konoha. Soji was sealed as Toneri and Shinnō moved toward the village, and the Allied Forces learned they had been lured away just as Konoha’s battle began.

  • Obito recognized Rin beneath her mask, and she urged him to stop living as Madara Uchiha and return to being himself.
  • Rin revealed that Hyuga Soji had revived her, explained that Madara had manipulated the circumstances of her death, and persuaded Obito to abandon the Infinite Tsukuyomi plan.
  • Nagato took command of Akatsuki and arranged for its members to leave the Land of Rain, drawing the Allied Forces away while Akatsuki attacked Konoha.

Arc 59The Meteor and the Byakugan

Shinnō’s assault on Konoha ended with Obito taking him, while Toneri stole Neji’s Byakugan and summoned a meteor. Konoha and Akatsuki stopped the meteor, then resumed their battle as Naruto and the other Jinchuriki joined the fight.

  • Shinnō attacked Konoha with the Sky Ninja, but Yota, Neji, Kimimaro, Haku, and Kurama Yakumo fought him aboard Angkor Fortress and brought it crashing down.
  • Shinnō transformed into Zero-Tails Void, but Kimimaro’s Dance of the Emerging Ferns left him near death before Obito took him into the Kamui Dimension.
  • Toneri’s puppets stole Neji’s Byakugan, and Naruto, Sasuke, Karatachi Yagura, and Utakata arrived to protect Neji and fight Toneri.

Soji uncovered the truth about Shihō, became commander-in-chief of the Allied Forces, and Sasuke struggled with his fading eyesight as Itachi promised another way to restore it.

  • Naruto, Karatachi Yagura, and Utakata fought the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, and Naruto tore off its arm before Nagato recalled it and Akatsuki withdrew from Konoha.
