Soji secured peace between Konoha and Kumogakure, reformed the Ninja Academy, and rescued the Yuki and Kaguya Clans from Kirigakure. After settling them in the Land of Snow and accepting leadership of the Yuki Clan, he left for the Hyuga ancestral grounds to awaken the Tenseigan.

Arc 17The Hyuga Envoy Plot

Soji stopped Danzo’s intelligence leak and manipulated Kumogakure’s attempted kidnapping of Hinata into a crisis that strengthened Konoha’s position and advanced the Hyuga Clan’s bid for the Ministry of Education. The negotiations ended with Kumogakure agreeing to concessions, while Killer B’s presence in Konoha brought Soji into confrontation with the Eight-Tails’ host.

  • Uchiha Homura defeated Kumogakure’s forces by turning Matatabi against their camp, while Dodai warned the Fourth Raikage that Soji might be a hidden Kage-level threat.
  • Soji killed the former Root squad sent to leak Konoha’s front-line intelligence, then left evidence near Root’s base to make Danzo believe the squad had been destroyed elsewhere.
  • Soji warned Hiashi and Hizashi that Kumogakure’s envoy might target Hinata, and he persuaded them to use the crisis to seek control of the Ministry of Education.

Arc 18Soji’s Arena Triumph

Soji fought Kumogakure’s champions and defeated Killer B after showcasing new elemental Gentle Fist techniques. His victory helped secure a peace treaty ending the Third Ninja World War, and he brought his techniques before the Hyuga Clan to begin discussing reform.

  • Soji returned Hinata to Hiashi and rallied the crowd to demand compensation from Kumogakure, while the Third Hokage promised to negotiate for the Hyuga Clan.
  • Soji recognized Abdō, who feared him, and later warned Killer B that a terrifying Hyuga had killed more than thirty Kumogakure ninjas with a glance.
  • Kumogakure agreed to pay Konoha’s war expenses, surrender mission revenue, and provide ninjutsu scrolls, then required Soji and Uchiha Homura to fight its representatives.

Arc 19The Kirigakure Exodus

Soji reformed the Ninja Academy, then returned to Kirigakure to rescue the Yuki and Kaguya Clans from Karatachi Yagura’s renewed Blood Mist persecution. He arranged their escape to the Land of Snow, recruited Kisame Hoshigaki, and remained behind to face Obito’s trap.

  • Soji agreed to teach his new Gentle Fist techniques to all qualified Hyuga, and he became Minister of Education with authority to reform the Ninja Academy.
  • Soji introduced academy reforms, including new courses, teacher evaluations, and a ban on early graduation, and he blocked Itachi Uchiha’s attempt to leave early.
  • Nagato avenged Yahiko by killing Hanzo, while Obito began planning an operation against Kirigakure and Mizuki Ember.

  • Soji fought the Six Paths of Pain and Obito, overcame their attacks, and destroyed Planetary Devastation with Air Quake, leaving Obito critically injured.
  • Obito escaped through Kamui while Soji flew after the fleeing clans, found young Haku, and offered to become his family.
  • Karatachi Yagura’s forces pressed the clans’ rearguard until Soji arrived with Haku and made the pursuing Kirigakure ninja flee.
