The guests and host had all enjoyed themselves. Just as Velin was about to leave, Bamur's mother, Milien, made her smile appear more natural and softly asked, "Lord Velin, may I speak with you alone about something?"

Hearing this, Velin knew it was time to get to the point. He turned to look at Bamur, but before he could speak, Bamur said, "I greatly admire Lord Velin's noble character."

The blood-red wine in the transparent glass gave off an enticing fragrance. Unfortunately, Velin did not pick it up. Instead, he looked directly into Milien's eyes and asked, "Madam Milien, are you truly willing to do this?"

Milien's expression did not change in the slightest at his blunt words. She picked up the glass, took a sip of the wine, and smiled. "Lord Velin, you have certainly asked the right person that question."
