Background / History

Kyle began as a serf under Velin. During the campaign against the goblins, he killed eight goblin warriors, earning Velin's attention and an offer: awaken Battle Qi within half a month and become a Knight Squire 15. He succeeded, awakening fire-attribute Battle Qi and pledging lifelong loyalty to Velin 18.

Velin initially assigned Orlando to guide Kyle's cultivation. Kyle was later elevated into Velin's Guardian Knights, becoming the fifteenth member of the group despite having been a serf only a year and a half earlier 18 86. When offered the choice between command and remaining at Velin's side, he chose personal service without hesitation; Velin subsequently called him the person whose back he could rely on 85.

A mysterious message led Kyle to a dying old man in the Duchy of Bohan. The old man, whom Kyle called “Grandfather,” sacrificed himself by fusing his Angel's Heart into Kyle, granting him High-Gold Knight power and a secret art 275 278. Later revelations established that Kyle's grandfather had been a six-winged Legendary Thunder Angel who found Kyle reincarnated as a human after his death in an Outer Realm battlefield; the inheritance ultimately transformed Kyle's bloodline into that of an eight-winged angel 1231.

Kyle is a golden-haired, dark-skinned young man whose early appearance was considered above average among the labor-worn serfs 15. He is usually composed and restrained, but his angelic combat form is overtly martial.

Kyle is defined by disciplined loyalty to Velin. He repeatedly refuses opportunities that would separate him from his lord, including a Seraph's invitation to the Heavenly Realm, because he considers protecting Velin the purpose of his path 85 1231 1232.

He is observant, efficient, and highly self-directed. Kyle regularly interprets Velin's intentions without explicit instructions, handles reports and intelligence work, and pursues magical research or demiplane management on his own initiative 159 730 1402. His loyalty does not prevent him from supervising Velin's cultivation or bluntly urging him to work harder 479.

As a commander, Kyle is severe and pragmatic. He enforces discipline through threats and demotions, monitors officers whose behavior concerns him, and has used ruthless methods against enemies and captives during wartime 695 1124 1208. In private instruction, however, he is patient and firm, using controlled setbacks to teach Cyrus vigilance and critical thinking 843.
