Before Xing could finish, Darian began reciting the military regulations outright. "Article 379 of the military code stipulates that all horses, griffins, wyverns, and the like, whether combat mounts or pet mounts, are forbidden from drinking."
"Just now, Master gave me a bottle of wine, and I drank it all at once. Why didn't you say anything then?" Xing's eyes glowed pale blue as he stared unblinkingly at Darian.
"Article 401 of the military code stipulates that when legion commanders or higher-ranking officers bestow wine, it must be drunk in their presence and neutralized with Battle Qi or magic, leaving no trace of intoxication. This does not violate military regulations."
Xing rolled his eyes and continued to argue, "I'm not enlisted, so your human military regulations don't apply to me."
"Article 51 of the military code stipulates that any magical beast that trespasses into a military camp may be regarded as an invader and killed on the spot by anyone." Darian glanced at Xing and continued speaking.
"Rigid human, I understand. I'll train properly tomorrow." Xing flapped his wings in irritation. "Now, where is my nest?"
Darian's expression remained calm. Making a welcoming gesture, he said, "Please follow me."
Xing raised his head and strode forward proudly.
As Darian watched the pale-blue griffin, his eyes filled with helplessness.
It was easy to imagine that the marshal usually indulged this griffin terribly, allowing him to develop such a temperament.
Still, fortunately, the fellow could listen to reason. He was merely stubborn. As long as Darian overwhelmed him with logic during training, he could make him submit.
"Forget it. I just need to be a proper instructor for the next few months."
