Kyle raised a hand, controlling the portion of power he had lent to Laikaot and handing control over to Anansi's Sword.
Laikaot, who was pondering how to lose reasonably, showed no reaction at all to this covert maneuver.
At that moment, after obtaining control over that portion of Kyle's power, the sleeping sword spirit within Anansi's Sword stirred slightly.
"Who will go first?"
"Me."
A Moon Elf standing on the far left spoke up.
"Alright."
After the other two left the dueling arena, the man and the elf began their battle.
Their purely swordsmanship-based contest made it difficult for most spectators to even catch sight of their movements.
Outside the arena, Laikaot barely managed to make out their actions with Kyle's power, and he became even more confident that he could lose in a "normal way."
"That Moon Elf is very strong," Velin said as he watched the battle in the arena.
"He is indeed strong." Kyle changed the subject. "However, I believe the dean of White Willow Warrior Academy is even stronger."
"Why—"
Before he could finish, the dean of White Willow Warrior Academy suddenly vanished. When he reappeared, he was already behind the Moon Elf, with a wooden sword pressed against the area over his heart.
Seeing this, Velin swallowed the rest of his words and said, "Passing through space directly—he has some skill. I wonder if we can recruit him."
Upon hearing that, Xuemya reached up and rubbed her chin. "How about having Grandfather step in?"
"Forget it." Velin refused without a second thought. "I was only saying it. I do not actually intend to recruit him. After all, he is Laikaot's future father-in-law. I still need to show a certain degree of respect toward a friend's elder."
