"Didn't you give me the authority to raise an army? Then I'll put Aunt in charge and set aside some time every week to keep her company and ease her loneliness."

Velin nodded and replied, "Then let's do that. But make sure she's safe. If Uncle goes berserk, I don't dare imagine what will happen."

"I understand."

Inside the City Lord's Mansion in Star Prayer City, Qixing County, Belder sat at his desk with a head full of white hair and a deep frown. Before him lay a sheet of paper covering the entire desk, densely packed with figures.

Just then, a clerk entered the hall, approached Belder, and leaned down to report quietly, "Grand Steward, the Lord has returned."

At those words, Belder abruptly raised his head and turned to the clerk, asking with deliberate emphasis, "Is that true?"

"It is," the clerk confirmed.

"Good." Belder's eyes lit up, excitement coloring his voice. "He's back. He's finally back."

"Go and prepare the records from the past few years. Tonight, I'll go..."

Belder considered for a moment, then continued, "Tomorrow morning. I'll need them when I go to Star Moon Fort to report tomorrow morning."

"Yes."

Not daring to delay, the clerk bowed and hurried out of the hall to organize the records needed for tomorrow's report.

My lord's return means the war is over. Next comes large-scale development.

Barring any surprises, he's bound to have his sights set on these old bones of mine.

Without a comparison, the difference won't stand out. I'll bring Andrew along. That way, my lord will turn his attention to him.

In the study, one man would have a head full of white hair, while the other would be in his prime. It would be obvious whom to choose to oversee the administration.
