Background / History

Belder was a commoner-born Knight assigned to Velin by the Ex Family. He swore personal allegiance to Velin and was entrusted with confidential matters early in the pioneering campaign, including the extraction of a mithril deposit beneath the Lake of Star Prayer. 19 23

During Qixing Territory's earliest expansion, he commanded infantry in the battle against the Boulder Tribe, organized camps and territorial security, trained professional soldiers, and proposed forming an elite force from twenty Warrior Apprentices equipped with iron armor. 14 17 23 He also recruited Knight Squires under Velin's one-to-many training system. 39

As the territory grew, Belder shifted increasingly toward civil administration. He managed population influxes, militia expansion, urban construction, resource coordination, military recruitment, academy projects, and the development of Star Prayer City. 114 184 221 His discovery and cultivation of Ice Blue Grass helped establish a major economic pillar for Lake of Star Prayer. 92

Velin appointed him Governor of Star Prayer County and concurrently Governor of Star Prayer City, placing the territory's central county under his administration. 284 Belder subsequently became the principal administrator behind Qixing Territory's rapid development; Velin later stated that the territory would have developed at least half as quickly without him. 2012

After the kingdom's expansion, Belder helped design a new official ranking system and was appointed a Tenth Rank Archon responsible for national administration. 2172 2240 He oversaw a trial of the new system in Treya Province and reported on its results after a year, including improved military recruitment and greater public interest in professional cultivation. 2192

Belder is intensely dutiful, loyal, and practical. He accepts difficult assignments without hesitation, whether commanding troops, building cities, recruiting an army, or managing territory-wide administration. 23 242 521 His loyalty to Velin is longstanding and explicit; he swore that he was willing to die for his lord. 23

He is also persistent and politically shrewd. Belder regularly pressures Velin for funds, personnel, and authority, often arriving in person with carefully prepared arguments. 221 508 1373 He is willing to use theatrics when necessary, once feigning a grave illness to secure additional manpower. 962 963

Despite his serious public manner, Belder is affectionate toward his children and admits that they have always softened his heart. 1406 He is conscious of his limitations as a cultivator and repeatedly attributes his slow advancement to administrative burdens. 605 1373 He is protective of his family, though his readiness to defend them can lead him to suspect a slight before establishing the facts. 2303

Belder serves as Velin's military subordinate during the establishment of Lake of Star Prayer. He commands infantry, organizes security, trains soldiers, protects mithril ore, and begins building his own network of Knight Squires. 14 23 24 39

Rise of Star Prayer City

As Qixing Territory expands, Belder becomes its indispensable administrator. He oversees Star Prayer City's growth, requests major construction funds, recruits officials, and takes responsibility for army expansion, population growth, and territorial development while Velin is away. 221 242

Governor of the Central County

Following Qixing Territory's reorganization, Belder becomes Governor of Star Prayer County and Star Prayer City. The new post centralizes much of the territory's administrative burden under him, while repeated transfers of skilled personnel create ongoing conflict and negotiation with other governors. 284 508

Overwork and the Machinery Core

Belder's workload repeatedly leaves him exhausted, white-haired, and short of capable aides. Velin ultimately gives him SDA-080, a Machinery Core capable of helping manage administrative work. 838 962 963

Kingdom Administration

Belder participates in building the kingdom's new official system and becomes a Tenth Rank Archon overseeing national administration. The system, trialed under his direction, is later formally implemented across the kingdom. 2172 2240 During the trial in Treya Province, he documents improvements in recruitment and public attitudes toward professional cultivation, alongside increased demand for entry-level resources. Velin replenishes Belder's depleted vitality and presses him to advance to Intermediate Soul Intent within ten years. 2192

New Continent Commission

Velin selects Belder to govern an enormous New Continent territory projected to reach roughly sixteen million square kilometers. Though Belder initially requests retirement in Qixing Territory, he accepts after Velin offers titles, resources, and personnel. 2013

Belder weighs his children's talents and futures when planning the distribution of family titles and arranging Kelis's service under Xuemiyya. 2014 2015 When Isufiel and Ilsuen request weapons for Ilsuen's 1,775 constables, Belder initially fears Ilsuen has been sidelined by his father.
