At ten that evening, the banquet ended.
Back in the bedchamber, Velin threw himself onto the bed and stared blankly at the magical lights on the ceiling.
Elsewhere, after waving Hilda and Xisina away to rest, Xuemya entered the bedchamber, walked to the bedside, and waved a hand before her husband's face.
Velin grabbed Xuemya's hand and gave it a slight tug, pulling her directly into his arms. "When do you think Uncle will be back?"
Lying on Velin's chest and listening to his heartbeat, Xuemya asked in confusion, "Didn't you used to be afraid that Uncle would come back and beat you up?"
"That was before." A hint of anticipation appeared on Velin's face. "Now that I have six divine artifacts in hand, I really want to test Uncle's mettle. If I can beat him, then from now on, if I tell him to go east, he'll go east. If I tell him to catch a dog, he'll go catch a dog."
"What if you can't beat him?" Xuemya asked curiously.
"Then it will naturally be a normal sparring match, to deepen both sides' understanding of the laws," Velin replied solemnly.
Seeing this, Xuemya could not help rolling her eyes at Velin. She then advised, "Rather than fantasizing about beating him, you should dig up more of Uncle's secrets. That way, you'll be invincible."
"You have a point." Velin stroked Xuemya's silver hair thoughtfully.
Just as Xuemya had said, even with divine artifacts in hand, he still had no confidence in defeating Uncle.
After all, Uncle had reincarnated so many times and witnessed countless taboos. The methods he possessed were beyond imagination. Without the Blood Knight's help, Velin would be nothing more than a punching bag.
"How has Aunt been lately?"
"She has been very happy," Xuemya said softly.
