Lahael rose to his feet. An illusory mask appeared over his face, and the word "Gray" appeared on his forehead.
Kyle looked at the Gray Swordsman with great satisfaction. Next, he needed to continue searching for similarly special talents and strive to assemble a guard of twelve swordsmen.
With so much inherited knowledge in his mind, he was already eager to put it to the test.
"Gray, show us your abilities."
"Yes, Master."
The Gray Swordsman stepped back several paces as black-and-white Mana Energy appeared out of nowhere and wrapped around his body.
A longsword formed from Mana Energy condensed in midair, white on one side and black on the other.
Less than a minute later, the Mana Energy dispersed. A swordsman clad in black armor appeared before Velin, with a horn protruding from his head.
The next moment, the pitch-black armor faded into pure white armor. The distinctive horn vanished, replaced by a horn growing from the center of his forehead, somewhat resembling a unicorn's horn.
"My lord, these are the Gray Swordsman's two forms: Darkness Form and Radiance Form," Kyle explained from the side.
"Which form is stronger?"
"Darkness Form. It specializes in offense."
"Radiance Form. It specializes in defense."
"Not bad." Velin turned to Kyle and continued, "I'll leave them all to you."
"I understand."
As the two spoke, the Gray Swordsman withdrew from Radiance Form and returned to his human appearance.
At dusk, the group returned to the camp.
"Gray, stand watch before my lord's camp tonight."
"Yes, sir."
Lahael bowed, his expression resolute, then took up his duty as a guard at the entrance to Velin's tent.
Kyle nodded with great satisfaction, then headed to Bamund's tent to report the matter
