Randolph took a deep breath and began to gather his strength for his second attack.

A juvenile Rock Lizard let out a pained howl, baring its teeth and staring at Randolph not far away. Seeing this, another Rock Lizard moved in front of its companion, simultaneously gathering a magical attack.

"All soldiers, throw your spears."

A captain standing not far away immediately gave the order. The surrounding soldiers strained to throw their weapons, disrupting the Rock Lizards' magical attack.

More than a dozen spears flew through the air, directly interrupting the two beasts' magical assault.

"Hiss—"

The hard scales were struck, and the force traveled into their bodies, causing the two juvenile Rock Lizards to cry out involuntarily.

The next moment, Randolph suddenly accelerated and attacked the head of one of the juvenile Rock Lizards.

Seeing the incoming attack, the Rock Lizard struggled to move its body and used its back to block the assault.

The immense force sent the two juvenile Rock Lizards flying backward, crashing hard against the rock wall.

More than a dozen soldiers stepped forward and clumsily carried the two juvenile Rock Lizards out, allowing the serfs mining to continue their work and extract the Mithril Ore.

In the early morning, Velin, led by Belder, arrived at the center of the village square and looked at the juvenile Rock Lizards, whose limbs were bound by chains, with some delight.

"My Lord, these are the two beasts Randolph brought back. They were discovered in the mine. It's said they ate a lot of ore, and their scales have astonishing defense," Belder explained to Velin, drawing his Knight Longsword and tapping the scales of a juvenile Rock Lizard.

Unlike ordinary Rock Lizards, these two Rock Lizards had black bodies covered with silver, web-like patterns. They had indistinct dark white stripes on their chests and abdomens, and the front half of their tails was mostly silver.

Given this situation, they should have consumed a significant amount of Mithril Ore, thus undergoing mutation, or perhaps evolution.

Such situations were not uncommon in the world. Many monsters mistakenly consumed magical plants or strange ores, thereby mutating and developing different abilities.

The two Rock Lizards' eyes held fear as they stared at the terrifying human before them, even more terrifying than the humans who had attacked them last time.

One of the giant lizards made a sound, its tone carrying a fawning quality.

This greatly surprised Velin. He found it strange that such brainless monsters could beg for mercy and act cute. Had the Mithril Ore also evolved their brains?

Immediately, Eunice stepped forward, gathering gentle healing magic in her palm. With a heart full of trepidation, she slowly walked over.

The Rock Lizard looked at the four-horned beast with pointed ears before it. It posed no threat; it felt like it could swat her to death with a single flick of its tail.

Its walnut-sized head rapidly processed the information. The Rock Lizard's confused gaze cleared. It glanced at its sister beside it and decided to make a bold move.

"My Lord, be careful."

Seeing the Rock Lizard charging directly at him, Velin placed his right hand on the hilt of his Knight's Shortsword, preparing to unleash an attack.

The next moment, the Rock Lizard stopped in front of Velin, lying on the ground and exposing its belly, acting like a dog.

Velin and Belder were dumbfounded by this scene, and Eunice was just as bewildered. The Rock Lizard, known for its ferocity and lack of intelligence, behaving in such a manner truly shocked all three of them.

The dozens of soldiers nearby didn't see it that way. In their eyes, the terrifying monster had actually submitted to their Lord. This proved that the Lake of Star Prayer must be a place blessed by the Goddess of Life.

"My Lord, this... it..."

Belder stepped forward, unsure of what to say for a moment.

Velin said nothing. He walked over to the Rock Lizard and tentatively reached out to stroke its chin.

"Hiss hiss."

The "intelligent" Rock Lizard acted docile, its eyes showing a clear desire to please. Its small head understood perfectly that if it pledged loyalty now, it would surely live a life of luxury. Otherwise, it might end up like its brethren, torn to pieces.
