Velin entered Kalles Palace and bowed to Alaric.
"Please, rise."
Afterward, the two went to the resting area behind the palace.
"Your Majesty, I came today to discuss the Teleportation Array." Velin skipped the pleasantries and directly stated his purpose.
Alaric already understood. "I intend to place the Teleportation Array in your territory."
The unexpected answer left Velin somewhat stunned.
He had assumed the Teleportation Array would be placed near the capital of the Silver Dragon Burke Kingdom. He had not expected it to be assigned directly to his own territory. The outcome was truly surprising.
"Your Majesty, this is somewhat..."
"The Silver Dragon Burke Kingdom has existed for more than four thousand years and has largely remained closed off. It only maintains ties with the Moon Elf Kingdom and the United Orc Kingdom, with very little contact with other nations. I will authorize the construction of two roads along the border, both ending in the Zeferus Territory."
Since the other party had offered terms, Velin did not hesitate to reveal his bargaining chip. "Your Majesty, of the profits generated by the Teleportation Array in the Zeferus Territory, seventy percent will belong to the Silver Dragon Burke Kingdom, fifteen percent to the Zeferus Territory, ten percent will be used for road maintenance, and five percent will belong to Aljettah."
"Can you bear to give that up?"
"Your Majesty, without the Silver Dragon Burke Kingdom's endorsement, this trade would not exist."
In Velin's original plan, the Teleportation Array within the Silver Dragon Burke Kingdom would have belonged to the silver dragons anyway. He had intended to use profit-sharing to secure the opening of this trade route.
But plans could not keep up with changes. First, King Alaric had agreed to establish the Teleportation Array with remarkable ease.
