At the nearest village outside the city, Velin spent two Silver Coins to rent a warehouse in the village and waited for the swindler to walk into his trap.
At three in the afternoon, the swindler came to the warehouse on his own. His eyes were vacant as he sat on a wooden chair.
With a thought from Velin, a vine burst from the ground and bound the middle-aged mage to the chair before gagging him.
Once everything was ready, Kyle first cast Magic Seal, then lifted Human Charm, allowing the swindler to regain his senses.
Looking around at his surroundings, the middle-aged mage instinctively drew upon the Mana Energy within him, only to find that it was completely useless.
"You damned bastard. You actually sold me a fake map. You really deserve to die. And I trusted you so much." A smile appeared on Velin's face as he controlled the vines, shaping them into a pair of fists that repeatedly hammered the middle-aged mage's abdomen.
With his magic sealed and his mouth gagged, he had no way to vent the pain wracking his body.
Kyle stood off to the side with his arms crossed, quietly watching the scene.
Velin drew his longsword and brushed aside the hair covering the man's face. Somewhat surprised, he said, "Well, well. You look decent enough, yet you're a swindler. You'd have an easier time being some noblewoman's lover than cheating people out of money."
"Mmph! Mmph!"
The middle-aged mage nodded, then frantically shook his head, his eyes filled with innocence.
"You still dare to pretend you're innocent?" Velin was furious. He decided to first give the other man a thorough lesson in painful memories.
For a man, there was no blow more unbearable than a fatal one.
