While they waited, Velin took out a board game and played against Viscount Eli.
Aside from losing the first game due to a bit of "carelessness," he won all of the next dozen or so matches.
Across the board, Viscount Eli watched the smile appear on his opponent's face and inwardly breathed a sigh of relief. With every move, he had to consider whether it would corner his opponent too completely or seem too deliberate.
In short, every move had to be just right.
Toward evening, sensing spatial fluctuations, Velin set down his piece and said with a smile, "Viscount Eli, it seems we won't be able to finish this game today."
"Lord Velin, it is already quite clear that I'm at a disadvantage. I concede this game," Eli said with a bitter smile.
"That works too."
Other than his uncle's student, Eli was the second person who had made him feel physically and mentally pleased while playing.
Although Velin knew Eli was accommodating him, the feeling was still quite nice.
Half a minute later, a Spatial Channel appeared in the center of the cave.
Duke of Moravia, Miller the messenger, and Xing the Mutated Griffon emerged from the Spatial Channel one after another.
"Grandfather."
"Your subordinate, Eli Doyle, pays his respects to Your Grace." Viscount Eli bowed deeply to express his profound respect.
The others also saluted in respect.
Duke of Moravia raised a hand, helping everyone up, then said to his grandson, "Take me to the place you mentioned."
"Grandfather, if you find something good, don't forget my share."
A hint of wariness appeared in Velin's eyes. After being made to settle accounts once, he had learned his lesson.
Looking at the boy, Duke of Moravia smiled helplessly. "Don't worry. I won't leave you out."
"Grandfather, this way."
