After changing into roughspun clothes, Velin and Kyle entered Milihua Town.
The entire town looked utterly run-down. The passersby hurried along, heading toward some destination.
There were only a handful of shops on either side of the street.
A short, skinny merchant glanced at the sky. Seeing no customers, he picked up his stall and headed back inside his shop.
Velin walked up to the stall, picked up a red-and-green fruit, and asked in the local accent, "Boss, I'd like to ask something."

"I'll take three jin."
Velin pretended to take ten Copper Coins from his pocket and handed them to the merchant, while signaling Kyle to pick out the fruit.
After accepting the coins, the short, skinny merchant moved beside him, lifted a rack, and whispered, "At noon today, the Church of Harvest will execute some rebels in the town square. Everyone's gone over there to watch."
"Thank you for telling me, Boss."
"It's nothing."
After openly accepting Velin's thanks, the short, skinny merchant carried the shelf into the shop.
Meanwhile, Kyle had finished choosing the fruit and handed it to the merchant to weigh.
Inside the shop, the merchant looked at the scale, and his eyelid twitched. With his back to the two of them, he placed his hand on the wooden stopper and subtly shifted it. When he checked the reading again, shock filled his eyes.
"What did you do? That man looked pretty surprised." Velin set down the fruit in his hand and asked curiously in Common Tongue.
"Nothing. I just cast a small spell." Kyle clasped his hands behind his back and calmly watched the short, skinny merchant's little movements.
