An hour later, Kelly sat up from the bed and touched her face. The ulceration had vanished, replaced by smooth skin.
A tear rolled down her cheek, carrying joy, but even more gratitude toward that Dawn Knight.
She turned and looked at Lester, who was resting with his eyes closed. She did not disturb him and simply watched him quietly.
After an unknown amount of time, Lester opened his eyes. Looking at Kelly, who had been staring at him without blinking, he coldly asked, "How do you feel?"
Hearing this, Kelly snapped out of her daze, quickly lowered her head, and softly said, "I-I'm... fine now."
"That's good." Lester stood and said, "Where is your home? I'll take you back."
"I don't have a home," Kelly answered quietly.
"What about family?"
"They've all passed away."
Lester stared at Kelly for a moment. A faint fluctuation appeared on his icy expression before vanishing again.
"I'll arrange for a paladin to take you to the nearest monastery for a few months. That should be enough time for you to find work to support yourself."
Hearing this, Kelly thanked him. "Th-thank you."
"As a Dawn Knight, eliminating Evil Gods is my duty."
"Under the Alignment Check, you are Neutral Good. That is why I was willing to save you."
"If you belonged to the Evil Alignment, I would only have destroyed you along with that Evil God's power."
"Rest well here. A paladin will come for you tomorrow."
After hearing Lester's words, fear filled Kelly's eyes as she tremblingly replied, "Y-yes."
Seeing this, Lester said nothing further. He picked up the Knight Sword beside him and cleanly departed from his room.
By the time he stepped outside, night had already fallen.
Inside the room, Kelly raised her head and watched Lester's retreating figure.
