Background

Before joining Shrek Academy, Zhao Wuji clashed with the Martial Soul Hall. While still apparently in the Soul Emperor ranks, he broke through a siege by sixteen bishops, all of whom were at least level 60; the matter was later dropped. He subsequently disappeared from the continent for ten years. 33

At Shrek Academy, Zhao Wuji serves as vice-dean and oversees the fourth entrance trial. His Great Strength Vajra Bear Martial Soul gives him exceptional attack power and defense, earning him the academy nickname “Immovable Wisdom King.” 32 39

Fourth Trial

Zhao Wuji personally administers the fourth Shrek Academy entrance test after Tang San, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, Zhu Zhuqing, and Qian Yuling bypass the earlier trials. He gives them one incense stick to coordinate, then requires them to withstand his attacks for one incense stick; if even one student lasts, the whole group passes. 32

The five-person team manages to injure him through Ning Rongrong’s support, Tang San’s control, and Qian Yuling’s summoned beasts. Zhao Wuji acknowledges Qian Yuling as a “little monster” after enduring their assault. 34

Excessive Force and Rematches

Excited by the students’ strength, Zhao Wuji escalates the test and badly injures Xiao Wu and Zhu Zhuqing with Great Strength Vajra Palm. He immediately regrets losing control and later apologizes to Tang San. 35

Tang San demands a rematch, and Qian Yuling joins him to seek justice for Zhu Zhuqing. During Qian Yuling’s portion of the challenge, Zhao Wuji is forced to use his Spirit Avatar but cannot land a decisive strike before the incense burns out. 35 37 38

Tang Hao’s Retribution

After the examination, Zhao Wuji considers disciplining Tang San and Qian Yuling over the humiliation they caused him. That night, Tang Hao confronts him over his treatment of the students and easily defeats him, shattering Zhao Wuji’s Spirit Avatar with a single hammer strike. 39
