Lu Li stepped into the main hall of the Soul King's palace. Beyond the plaza stretched a long sacred path, at the end of which lay the place where the Soul King "resided."

The monk stood at the entrance to the sacred path, his gaze level as he watched Lu Li.

"What you're guarding isn't the Soul King at all. It's your own position."

Looking into the distance, Lu Li spotted Orihime Inoue standing before the Spirit King Palace and roughly understood what was going on.

"This old man is merely Lord Soul King's guardian, his loyal servant. What position could I possibly have?"

The monk spoke with a smiling face, appearing perfectly amiable, yet unable to conceal the killing intent beneath it.

"Is that so? Since that empty throne has no owner, I'll go sit on it for a while."

Lu Li advanced in his Bankai state. His blade had yet to move, but its intent had already swept across the entire plaza, its razor-sharp edge aimed directly at the monk's brow.

"Who the Soul King is means little to this old man..."

With a sweep of his sleeve, the monk shattered Lu Li's sharp blade intent with overwhelming Reiatsu. At the same time, he drew an enormous brush from within his sleeve.
