"What's so special about this game?"
After Aizen came over, he examined the game data on the screen. The game company's equipment was advanced; with a single click, they could preview the general state and local customs of that world, presented through 3D projections.
This discontinued game had the continent's name marked on its display, along with the reason it had been shut down and its current status.
"I've been to this world before, through a World War. At the time, there was also a group of Explorers in the upper world, descending as debugging personnel."
Lu Li briefly explained it to Aizen. "I didn't expect to see a world I'd conquered here."
Aizen's interest was piqued. He used his communicator to transmit a message to Nia, telling him to flee with the army after pulling them away. He and Lu Li would remain a while longer.
He then made a series of adjustments in the operating system, using a dead employee's card privileges to pull up some information. "This world really is unusual. It isn't merely a game. It wasn't simply discontinued either—the company lost the ability to debug this world and merely used it as a template for virtual-world technology."
"What do you mean?"
Lu Li was somewhat confused.
"I mean, the world Brother Lu visited isn't a game developed by this company. This technology existed before the First Epoch. The company merely found it and used that ancient technology to develop new game worlds."
As Aizen spoke, he took out a transparent cover and stored away the enormous sphere of light in the center. "This thing is the true core. These mainframe aberrations have already lost their activity. They're only providing computing power for it. This company has some real nerve."
