"I never thought I'd see the day when I trusted the likes of a mage."
That was Mordred's honest thought at that moment.
She had been active during the Age of Spirits, when mages had been powerful but few in number.
The only mages who had left a deep impression on Mordred were two—her mother Morgan, and Britannia's Red Dragon mentor, Merlin.
Morgan went without saying; she was probably much the same type as Semiramis. As for Merlin, Mordred honestly sometimes wondered whether that lecherous old bastard was really a mage at all.
Because Mordred had never seen Merlin use magecraft. His way of fighting was simply pulling a sword from who knew where, then cutting people down.
But Morgan and Merlin did share one trait: well, they were both scheming bastards!
After spending so long around those two scheming bastards, Mordred had unconsciously equated mages with scheming bastards.
However, her Master Kaijiri Shishigami was an exception. Just as her fighting style was nothing like that of a knight, Kaijiri Shishigami's fighting style was nothing like that of a mage.
That was exactly what Mordred liked about him.
Come to think of it, if part of the Round Table had been used as a Holy Relic, then unless it had been the piece from the center—which would definitely summon Galahad—any Knight of the Round Table could have answered the call.
So why had she been the one summoned?
The answer was simple: they were the same kind of people!
"If that's the case, then let's cut loose and go all out!"
Following the direction of the arrows, Mordred sprinted toward Chiron, knocking aside every arrow fired at her along the way until she reached the Archer's position.
"Got you, Archer!"
Mordred shouted as she launched a fierce assault on Chiron
