The lake's surface shimmered with ripples, and from time to time, one or two plump fish leaped from the water. Their silver scales reflected a golden glow beneath the sunlight, drawing the eye.
Every hundred meters along the lakeshore stood a metal pillar about ten meters tall. A Soul Guiding Lamp was mounted halfway up each pillar. They were not activated during the day, but whenever night fell and darkness enveloped the area, the lights would automatically turn on.
Some young Outer Court Students had asked about the principle behind them. The teachers from the Soul Tool Department explained that these were Photosensitive Soul Guiding Lamps, capable of automatically adjusting their brightness by sensing the surrounding light level, ensuring that Sea God Lake would not be completely dark at night.
