Spirit Rings manifest as luminous, ring-shaped halos after a Soul Beast’s death. A bearer draws the ring in with Soul Power, after which it settles around the Martial Soul or revolves around the user’s body 3.

• White, yellow, purple, black, and red correspond respectively to ten-, hundred-, thousand-, ten-thousand-, and hundred-thousand-year rings 10.
• Lin Li’s first ring appeared as a profoundly dark yellow halo after the Nether Dark Crow was burned to death 3 4.
• High-age rings may bear gold patterns; Million-Year rings appear gold on Lin Li 220 277.

Background / History

Spirit Rings are obtained from Soul Beasts and are fundamental to a Soul Master’s advancement. A Soul Master must absorb a ring to pass cultivation bottlenecks, while a Titled Douluo normally has only nine ring slots; consequently, compatibility between a Martial Soul and its chosen Soul Beast is treated as essential 4 10 13.

After a Soul Beast is killed, its Spirit Ring emerges above the corpse. The prospective bearer sits cross-legged, guides the ring with Soul Power, and absorbs its energy into their Martial Soul. The Soul Beast’s remaining consciousness may resist within the bearer’s spiritual sea before dissipating 3 19 46.

A ring’s age determines its color and generally its power. Hundred-Thousand-Year rings are especially coveted because they grant two soul skills, while Million-Year rings can grant four 44 277. Absorption remains dangerous: even Lin Li’s God-Bestowed ring could only be raised to a certain threshold before her body risked collapse 220 261.

Acquisition and Compatibility

A suitable ring is chosen according to the bearer’s Martial Soul, intended combat path, and the Soul Beast’s attributes.

• Lin Li selected the Nether Dark Crow because it was avian, possessed a trace of phoenix bloodline, and was highly compatible with her Blood Fiend Demonic Phoenix 3.
• Plant-type Martial Souls are advised to absorb plant-type rings that strengthen vitality and resistance rather than indiscriminately taking animal-type rings 13.
• Ye Lian chose the Spiked Thorn Soul Spider for Wang Bing because its spear-like limbs and defensive armor suited his Cave Demon Spider’s fighting style 19.
• Zhou Yurou was reserved an 80,000-year Blue Silver King for a later ring because its age exceeded what she could safely absorb at the time 82 130.

Spirit Rings provide soul skills to their bearers.

Lin Li’s Blood Fiend Demonic Phoenix can grow by absorbing items containing Soul Power, including the energy needed to increase the age of Spirit Rings and Spirit Bones 1.

• Absorbing the Man Faced Demon Spider’s energy caused Lin Li’s First Spirit Ring to solidify and deepen in color 14.
• Devouring a thousand-year Mandala Snake advanced that ring from yellow with faint purple traces into light purple 34.
• The Abyssal Phoenix could directly devour a defeated Soul Beast’s ring energy, deepening the color and age of Lin Li’s existing rings 58.

God-Bestowed Soul Rings are divine constructs that condense into forms suited to the absorber.
