Background / History

Rosen was orphaned during the 2020 “God of Desire” attack on Hong Kong. Buried beneath rubble, he cried for two days before rescuers found him. His parents’ identities remain unconfirmed. 2 14

In 2027, Raleigh Beckett adopted him and became his mentor. Rosen later changed his name by combining the first syllables of his and Raleigh’s names. Raleigh’s belief that Jaeger pilots could “fight God” shaped Rosen’s determination to fight Kaiju; after Raleigh’s sacrifice, Rosen resolved to inherit that ambition. 2 14

He entered the Hong Kong Kowloon Pilot Academy in 2036. Though academically excellent, he was repeatedly described as troublesome. In 2041, he dominated Kunlun’s pilot-selection trials with a 92% simulator Sync Rate, 73 sorties, and 73 kills, earning the right to pilot the Jaeger. 14 132

Rosen is physically imposing, standing taller and weighing nearly 60 pounds more than Ji Ye. His ordinarily black eyes can flare crimson when his anomalous connection with Kunlun activates. 29 30 70
