"I came here for the sake of our friendship," Fulgrim said sadly to Akurduana.

"The old order has been shattered, and a new dawn is about to rise. I offered him the chance to become part of the new order, but he refused me."

He watched as Ferrus led the Cataphractii Terminators forward without mercy.

Fulgrim leapt down, and the Phoenix Guard followed with terrible battle cries.

The Phoenix Guard collided with the veterans of Clan Avernii, guardian spears crashing against power claws.

Bursts of light scattered as Disruption Fields tore at one another.

At the heart of that storm of light and sound, the two once-intimate Primarch brothers walked toward each other.

Ferrus drew the Fire Blade from his waist. Fulgrim smiled.

"We are fighting to the death with weapons we once forged for each other. It is the perfect ending to our great friendship."

"Ever since you came to see me with betrayal in your heart, I have dreamed of settling this," Ferrus said.

"Only one of us can walk away from here. You know that."

"Of course I do." Fulgrim shook his head.

"You chose the wrong path in the end. You betrayed our friendship."

"You are the one who betrayed it," Ferrus rebuked him.

"You betrayed The Emperor, and you betrayed me as well."

"Horus is a madman. Look at the death all around us. How could this possibly be right?"

"I am Father's loyal son. His will and his vengeance shall be carried out through me."

"The Emperor is a cripple," Fulgrim said scornfully.

"His Imperium is burning with war, yet he hides beneath Terra, busying himself with trivial matters."

"He cannot rule the galaxy."

"Do not dream of winning my support," Ferrus said coldly.

"You will not be given a second chance," Fulgrim said.
