Fire Xenos
Wolf Prime, Nyx Hive City.
Dickson, First Company Captain of the First Chapter, walked into a home in the Hive City whose door stood wide open. He stared at the dining table, where the food gave off a thick stench of rot.
A man, a woman, and two children lay collapsed on the floor, facing different directions, some sprawled, some on their sides.
Their eyes showed broad whites, their pupils shrunk to pinpoints, their bodies burned into dried corpses.
The veteran "Law Officer" crouched on the floor, and a point of golden light rose in his black pupils.
The scorch marks on the floor rapidly became clear. In his mind, he sketched out the Fire of Time smashing through the door, pouncing on the four like flowing flame, and coiling around their bodies.
The xenos' claws struck their heads, knocking them unconscious. In the end, they were burned to death by the flames in their sleep.
As Dickson rose, a piercing buzz sounded in his helmet.
After he connected, a voice came through:
"Captain, everyone in the entire Hive City is dead."
"After investigation, the manner of death is largely the same. Their eyes are rolled white, their bodies charred black..."
"61st Squad has already entered the Lower Hive, but so far, they still haven't found the xenos."
"I understand," Dickson said with certainty. "They are still here. In the Underhive."
After ending the communication, Dickson thought of the Black Emperor's oracle. He swept his gaze over the corpses, raised his Power Fist, and delivered an oath of punishment in Dunnish:
"I declare that I shall punish the Fire of Time xenos of Nyx Hive City!"
The "Judge's" sound waves rippled outward with spirituality, raising points of golden light.
