The Warp covered the weather systems of the entire world, its currents battering countless star systems.

"Lorgar." A voice of indeterminate gender sounded behind him, where there was no one at all.

Inger-Sel the Ascendant slid out. Below the waist, she had become a ridged tail, like a snake and like a worm.

Four arms extended from her shoulders, resembling a deity from ancient Terran Indian myth.

"Lorgar." Her delicate female face became a lion's maw that could not close, filled with gums that birthed deformity.

Lorgar drew a deep breath of the clean air supplied by his armor's circulation system. The scent of ritual purifying oils spread through his nostrils with a coppery tang.

"The air of this world cannot be breathed, but you are unaffected."

"You are a unique existence among the sons of the accursed one."

"You were once the lost one."

"Your control over yourself comes from understanding. When you understand your mission, you will receive the blessings of the gods."

Lorgar shook his head. "I was born from the strongest of mankind. I am a Primarch, but I am still human."

He gazed at the dust-covered world, and the ruins of Monarchia surfaced unbidden in his mind.

"What is this world called?"

"The Aeldari once called it Iqresa. After she who thirsts—Slaanesh—was born, this place became known as Sar'n'sath."
