The Marionettist willed the gemstone set in the Farseer Puppet's silver spear to blaze with dazzling light.

She hurled the spear. A mysterious, lilting song rose from the gemstone as it hurtled toward "Omega."

Sid Ranko, captain of the Lernaean Terminators, felt his blood burn. Power surged through him, and he roared.

He swung his suddenly lighter Power Axe and brought it down with all his strength.

Boom!

Blinding arcs of electricity tore across the sky, knocking the Singing Spear away.

The Farseer Puppet swept his right arm in an arc.

The silver light spun back into his hand.

William let out a long breath. Alpha had suddenly grown stronger, but not beyond his ability to fight.

He was not a true Primarch.

[My lord once said that Alphas could drink a Primarch's blood and, with a Librarian's unique Psionic Energy ritual, take on a Primarch's appearance.

They could even grow taller—more so than a Faceless.]

The Marionettist abandoned the idea of dropping in another Marionette. A secret weapon no one knew about should be saved for a more critical moment.

At her command, the Farseer Puppet raised his left arm.

"Xenos!" Lanko charged toward the Farseer Puppet.

Streaks of blazing Psionic Energy came crashing down from the sky.

A lightning bolt as thick as a human body struck a Lernaean Terminator. Screaming arcs of electricity tore through his Cataphractii Terminator Armour.

Blood sprayed from his breathing grille, and his charred body toppled over.

Lanko ran like lightning, faster even than the Shadows of Order in Mark IV Power Armor. In an instant, he was upon the Xenos.

He raised his Power Axe and struck with savage force.

Boom!

The energy field collided with the Psychic Field. A deafening shriek echoed through the lead-gray mountains.

"Omega!"

Lanko drove the Xenos
