Standing beside the central console, Sui Yang and his two sons watched the holographic screen, gaining a clear picture of the situation beyond the Space Gate and the two unknown forces engaged in battle.
The Advance Team's helmet feeds were shared on the holographic screen. As the view zoomed in, the builds and features of the soldiers holding the supermarket became increasingly clear. Together with the language they spoke, these details suggested they were most likely human as well.
Their weapons and equipment, however, were clearly far more advanced than those of the Main Universe's conventional militaries. Their firearms had ammunition counters, and some soldiers' helmets also featured monocular displays, possibly HUDs with aiming assistance.
Their combat uniforms and body armor, on the other hand, were not much better than those used by the Main Universe's conventional militaries.
Then there were the severely deformed "people" fiercely attacking the soldiers.
Most were no taller than ordinary humans, but their grayish-white skin, twisted features, and clothing covered in blood, grime, and other stains made them look like "zombies."
Unlike "zombies," however, they could handle firearms proficiently and even use tactical maneuvers and teamwork, indicating that they still possessed self-awareness.
Aside from these ordinary aberrants, a small number appeared to have "swollen" from the inside out, reaching nearly three meters tall, with shriveled, rough, dark gray skin.
Their most grotesque feature was their powerful, bestial legs, which resembled those of hoofed animals such as goats.
These hulking creatures also possessed self-awareness. With faster reflexes and greater strength, combined with heavy armor and large-caliber firearms, they posed a tremendous threat to the soldiers defending the supermarket.
