Tiandao had picked the Big Joker not because he had chosen it, but because any card he chose became the Big Joker.

After Caroline gave Tiandao a dose of "cold violence," he ultimately chose not to get to the bottom of things or make her explain the basis for her judgment. Instead, he asked her to choose for him.

"The reason?"

Tiandao asked with great interest.

"No reason. It's simply because this one happens to be ranked thirteenth."

Caroline's answer was simple and direct, without any further explanation, as though that alone was enough to serve as the full basis for her choice.
