Background / History

Holy Maiden and Qian Xunji

Before becoming Pope, Bibi Dong was Spirit Hall’s Holy Maiden and Qian Xunji’s disciple. She loved Yu Xiaogang and secretly supplied him with Spirit Hall’s martial-soul research materials. The records she provided became the foundation of his Ten Core Competitiveness Theories of Martial Souls 132 203 326.

In the initially established history, Qian Xunji imprisoned and sexually assaulted her to prevent her from leaving Spirit Hall for Yu Xiaogang. This trauma drove her hatred of Spirit Hall and the Angel lineage, extending even to her daughter, Qian Renxue. She accepted the Rakshasa God’s inheritance and eventually killed and devoured Qian Xunji after Tang Hao had grievously wounded him 110 202 274 316.

Rise to Pope

Qian Daoliu supported Bibi Dong’s appointment while she was still a Soul Douluo. He did not avenge Qian Xunji, instead valuing her talent and ability to develop Spirit Hall. His long-term intention was for her to hold power until Qian Renxue could inherit it 83 274 291.

Bibi Dong resisted being treated as a temporary ruler. She secured complete control of Pope’s Hall, won over elders, and gradually built a faction capable of opposing the Worship Hall. Under her diligent governance, Spirit Hall expanded rapidly and became more united; many began to regard her as its greatest Pope 83 110.

Altered Past

Su Xing later travels more than twenty years into the past and interrupts Qian Xunji’s assault. The younger Bibi Dong feels an unexpected sense of security around her rescuer, despite not recognizing him 326 327.

Su Xing subsequently extracts Qian Xunji’s Six-Winged Angel martial-soul origin and creates an angel embryo for implantation in Bibi Dong, preserving Qian Renxue’s birth without the assault. His intervention also involves memory manipulation intended to maintain necessary historical events while removing the resentment underlying the mother–daughter conflict 328.

Appearance

Bibi Dong has a nearly flawless face, fair skin, wine-red hair, and pink eyes. Her ceremonial clothing and bearing emphasize her authority as Pope and Empress 159 316.

  • Papal attire: Luxurious robes, including a black robe threaded with gold and golden Pope’s robes 274 307.
  • Crown: A nine-curved purple-gold crown 274.
  • Scepter: A golden, jewel-encrusted symbol of supreme authority 159 274.
  • Martial-soul transformation: Black armor, eight spider legs, and thick green fur turn her into a gigantic spider-like figure 317.
  • Demonic marking: A spiderweb pattern on her forehead lights up during several techniques 264 297 317.

Personality

Bibi Dong combines disciplined administration with calculated ruthlessness. She investigates potential enemies before acting, consolidates support within Spirit Hall, and uses poison, clones, and battlefield traps rather than relying solely on direct confrontation. Her diligence is specifically praised, even by Su Xing, who doubts he could endure her daily workload 83 136 169 281.

Her composure conceals lasting emotional wounds. She initially retains an idealized image of Yu Xiaogang and hopes that his visits are motivated by affection. When he instead seeks cultivation knowledge for Tang San, she recognizes his disregard for her feelings. Su Xing’s account of his treatment of Liu Erlong further deepens her disillusionment 169 170 171.

She shows tenderness toward her disciples despite her hostility toward rivals. Her expression softens around Su Xing, and she fears that Hu Liena may never return from the Capital of Slaughter. Su Xing and Hu Liena are the only people permitted to enter her main hall without prior announcement 194 246 316.

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Bibi Dong possesses two spider-type martial souls with separately developed ring sets 183 262.

Martial Soul Documented Ring Configuration Characteristics
Death Spider Emperor Yellow, yellow, purple, purple, black, black, black, black, red 136 289 Supplies Death Domain, Spider Emperor Clone, and Undying Body.
Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor Black, black, black, black, black, red, red, red, black 274 288 Its high-age rings support powerful offensive, summoning, and alternate-space techniques.
  • She switches between the two Martial Soul Avatars during combat 286 289.
  • The seven rings of her second martial soul are described as collectively stronger than all nine rings of her first 262.
  • Twin Martial Souls allow her to devote her first martial soul’s ninth skill to survival rather than offense 287.

Death Domain

The innate domain of the Death Spider Emperor amplifies Bibi Dong while suppressing and poisoning enemies 136.

  • Increases her overall attributes by 10% and spiritual power by 20% 136.
  • Reduces enemy attributes and spiritual power by 20% in its documented use against Tang Hao 136.
  • Prevents enemies within its range from using stealth, teleportation, or blink-type skills 136.
  • Fills the area with corrosive Death Spider Emperor poison; poisoned victims slow down and progressively rot 281.
  • A later description gives its enemy-attribute reduction as 10% during her battle with Qian Renxue 317.

Divine Slaughter’s Domain

Bibi Dong releases immense killing intent through Divine Slaughter’s Domain 274.

  • Its amplification helps Yue Guan and Ghost Douluo move under the Elders’ Hall’s oppressive aura 274.
  • She can activate it together with Death Domain 286 297.
  • She is a survivor of the Capital of Slaughter, stating that only eight people had truly escaped it over several hundred years, including herself and Tang Hao 194.

Spider Emperor Clone

The Death Spider Emperor’s eighth soul skill creates a duplicate with 100% of her physical strength and Soul Power 136 288.

  • Can use the first seven skills of her first martial soul 288 317.
  • Cannot use her eighth or ninth skills 288.
  • Has no independent intelligence and requires spiritual control 136.
  • Supports deception and pincer attacks; she uses it against Tang Hao and Qian Renxue 136 317.

Eternal Creation

A hundred-thousand-year sixth soul skill of the Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor, Eternal Creation produces a devastating blade attack 264.

  • Combines her enormous foreclaws with her soul-bone scythes 264.
  • Locks onto an enemy’s true body and ignores physical defenses 264.
  • Inflicts wounds that spread continuously; immense Soul Power can resist the effect only until that power is exhausted 264.
  • Forces Tang San to sever his left arm to stop the wound from spreading 286.

Demon Spider Summoning

The third skill of her second martial soul summons venomous demon spiders under her spiritual control 262.

  • Searches for and harasses fleeing targets while she remains at a safer distance 262.
  • Produces poisonous smoke that withers nearby plants 262.
  • At Jialing Pass, the number of venomous spiders increases as more people die 281.
  • Its ring is later described as exceeding seventy thousand years, with power comparable to her first martial soul’s eighth skill 281.

Life and Death, One Dream

The Soul-Devouring Spider Emperor’s eighth soul skill creates an alternate space 317.

  • A green vortex transports Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue into it during their confrontation 317.
  • Qian Renxue eventually breaks free; the technique is not an inescapable confinement 317.

Undying Body

Also called Immortal Body, the Death Spider Emperor’s ninth soul skill allows Bibi Dong to reconstruct her shattered body 287 289.

  • Reassembles her even after attacks break her body into fragments 286 289.
  • Its restorative ability is described as stronger than the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone’s 287.
  • Originates from a hundred-thousand-year Soft Bone Rabbit that took her a full year to hunt 287.
  • Does not immediately eliminate invading divine power; she needs time to dispel Rakshasa power after Tang San’s attack 287.

Spiritual Power and Additional Techniques

  • Remote perception: Projects her consciousness beyond her body to verify events on Spirit City’s streets 166.
  • Death Spider Emperor venom: Causes progressive corrosion, hallucinations, and potentially damage to a victim’s soul 136 263.
  • Bloodsucking Spider Thorns: A sixth soul skill used against Qian Renxue 317.
  • Space-Rending Abyss Slash: A sixth soul skill used during the Clear Sky Sect confrontation 288.
  • Real World: A Mental Immunity Skull skill invoked in battle against Tang San 286.
  • Rakshasa connection: Divine power is present within her, but her inheritance becomes contested; attempts to force entry into the Secret Realm result in backlash 132 326.
