The Grey Knights posed a serious problem, but for Chen Xi and the others, it was not fatal.

Even Chen Xi himself could not be certain whether this planet was tainted by Chaos.

For the Imperium, it was perfectly normal for places like the underhive to breed a few Chaos cults—so normal that if there were no Chaos cults, one ought to wonder whether some other trouble was brewing instead.

Usually, though, these Chaos cults could not cause any major disturbances. The Hive City's enforcers or the Adeptus Arbites could clean them up quite effectively.

After all, they were petty rabble who did not even know how to conduct sacrifice rituals, could not recite more than a few daemon true names, and could not even summon things like Bloodletters or Pink Horrors.

Do not think pledging oneself to Chaos was easy. For ordinary Cultists, it was actually very difficult to gain the attention of the four powers in the Warp. They might not even be able to earn the notice of an ordinary Greater Daemon or Daemon Prince.

Those who usually answered such ordinary Cultists were merely Chaos sorcerers hoping to ascend to daemonhood, warband leaders, or certain daemons who had failed to meet their quotas.

Such creatures naturally did not warrant the deployment of a Grey Knight. Sending Astartes after them would already have been a waste.

The situation on Rostov II was much the same. While the planet was not entirely without Chaos cults, they were only minor groups that could not even scrape together a sacrifice ritual and had not received any blessings from Chaos.

They merely worshipped Chaos. There was no tangible Chaos threat at all.
